"Culkin - Several Sundays"

Stockholm's Culkin play old school gnarly shoegaze-pop the way a lot a people like to hear it; loud, fuzzed out and influenced as much by hardcore as it is shoegaze. If you can imagine a band that attempt to cram the entire history of American independent rock (The Replacements, Dinosaur Jr., Huskers, Meat Puppets, Sonic Youth, Black Flag, SST, etc, etc) and the complete history of '80s/'90s UK shoegaze (from MBV to Teenage Fanclub) onto one record without it being a straight throwback affair then you'll have some idea of what to expect here.
They've got the Dino Jr/Sebadoh sound nailed ('Left Behind'). They've got the My Bloody Valentine sound nailed ('Glow') and pretty much everything in between. They blaze solos but they sing nice and, I'm guessing, they probably dress kinda shabby like Archers Of Loaf or someone. Takes me right back to the start. People just aren't as slack as they used to be. - Norman Records
