Cullen Lane

A USMC combat veteran, single dad, and born again Christian, Cullin is marking his claim in Texas country music by resurrecting both the untold stories of those past and his own real life experiences. Lane's contrast of inner goodness vs. inner conflict in his songs like "The Outlaw That Lives in Me" & "Living By Refusing To Die" were inspired by a real life events. "I was impacted early on how life can suddenly turn on you", says Lane. The mixed emotional pain and bitterness that comes from being human ultimately inspired Lane to write and sing about the conflicts that "live" within all of us but how we can overcome life’s realms. There are songs of hope & unconditional love and respect reflected in his songs "I Wanna Soar", "I'll Never Let You Go", and his newest song "Hope & Dreams" which was inspired by his children at imaginary play and the true Hope of God's promise to us all. Lane comments "...there’s something out there in the atmosphere that I can just tap into somehow. There’s some powerful force that at times allows me to create something special. I think it’s the workings of the good Lord." In 2008 Cullin appeared in his own SXSW Showcase and later finished as a finalist in the top four of 16 bands at the Battle of The Bands for Kim in Llano, Texas. Cullin is back in the studio putting together his next album. His latest songs have taken a decidedly lighter and more spiritual turn brought on by more of those life's lessons learned the hard way.
