Formed in early 2014, Cult Classic have quickly found their own musical : a blend of 80's dream pop, epic shoegaze soundscapes and psychedelic sensibilities bound together by joint male/female vocals. Their members hail from parts of the world as varied as Malaysia and the UK, but it was in Montreal that they first started playing together. They're catchy songs reflect the strong indie pedigree of Montreal but they have also fused more traditional sounds with electronic elements - characterising their unique sound.
In the months they have been together, they have already built up an impressive roster of performances. Highlights include opening for the Arkells at the Virgin Mobile Corona Theatre in Montreal and playing McGill University's Open Air Pub in front of hundreds of students, as well as shows at well-known Montreal institutions such as Cabaret Underworld. 2014 will undoubtedly be a landmark year for Cult Classic as they seek to spread their sounds as far and wide as possible
