"Roots Lights-Up Vancouver"

Jamaican Reggae Artist, “Culture Brown” electrifies Canadians at Augustown Charity Concert.

On Friday March 16th, Culture Brown performed to a sold out crowd in Vancouver Canada. The event was a charity concert raising money to build a new roof over the Cross of Life Church in Augustown, Jamaica. Technological donations were also made to support the children and youth of Augustown. When asked if he would come to Canada to support the charity effort; Culture Brown jumped at the chance, “I know the community well; I have family in Augustown, and have performed many times at the community hall.” Culture exclaimed.

Culture Brown flew all the way from his hometown of Westmoreland, Jamaica, and took Canadian reggae music fans on a thrill ride with conscious brand of positive roots reggae. His songs, “Militancy, Missing You, Keep It Clean, and Sell Off” were fan favorites, and have been playing non-stop on Canadian radio stations. Culture Brown was gracious enough to donate his commission and CD sales back to the charity. Unbelievable.

When event organizer, Christopher Mark Steffler told Culture Brown that he had helped to raise over $160,000JA for the Church, he couldn’t believe it. “Wow, that is amazing! I feel so happy to be a part of this...that is a lot of money...it will go a long way in Jamaica.” remarked Culture. - Mercury News

"We be Missing You"

"Culture Brown’s “Missing You”. A song for many In Vancouver, Canada. Earlier this year, few people in the Vancouver area knew about Culture Brown. Then came the sudden death in July of Lisa Hunte, a friend of DJs D’Coach and NastyJag Sound. “She passed away on a Saturday night and Sunday was our West Indies Culture Shock show. We knew the show would be a special dedication to Lisa but didn’t know playing one song would resonate so much with the people of Vancouver, Canada,“ says D’Coach, member of the NastyJag Soundcrew. “It seems to be a song with a lot of meaning for those who have lost someone close, and I think Culture Brown’s “Missing You” aides in the healing process,” says NastyJag Sound. We have seen Culture Brown’s “Missing You” become an anthem for those who have lost a loved one and has become one of the most requested songs on air. "

Bio

Culture Brown is an energizing Jamaican Reggae artist who has been described as sitting musically somewhere between Shabba Ranks and Buju Banton. His electric stage presence is always contagious , as he dares his audiences right off their feet, and into his music. He sings about what is important.
Born in the Parish of Westmoreland and then moving to Kingston's Elleston Flats at an early age, Culture Brown found his start in reggae music as a member of the Black Star Sound System, opening the doors for him to become a powerful figure on the reggae scene.

As a roots and culture dancehall artist, Culture Brown’s lyrical content often sheds light on today’s world issues and gives hope for a better tomorrow. His promotion of equal rights and justice for all is clearly demonstrated in the lyrics of his track “Here To Love” when he says ‘I’m here to love, not here to judge….’ He stands firmly behind his lyrics as he extends his hand in friendship no matter what age, race, or sex.

Culture Brown’s musical journey has taken him as far as St. Lucia, Canada, England, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, France and in his homeland Jamaica where he opened his own protools studio, Culture Brown Recording Studio, in Westmoreland.
