Bio

Cultured Cowboy is an eclectic folk quartet from the Vancouver area. With lyrical honesty and maturity wise beyond their years, their music plays like a poignant soundtrack for everyday life.
Over the past five years, they have played at many venues throughout British Columbia. Some performance highlights include: 2004 Vancouver Sun Run, New Music West 2002, The Railway Club, The Marine Club, Café Deux Soleil, The Backstage Lounge as a part of John Bottomly and Friends, and contributions to the indie film Café Surrey (directed by Trevor Cameron). Thus far, they have completed three CD’s: Cultured Cowboy Live at Orphan Studios (2001), Cultured Cowboy Pre-Release Album (2000), and their self-titled debut Cultured Cowboy (1998). They have also won the honour of being included on the album Orphans, a compilation project featuring some of the Lower Mainland’s pre-eminent bands, and are currently working on a new album.
The quartet consists of Terry Magson (vocals, electric and acoustic guitars), William Kuklis (vocals, six and twelve string guitars, mandolin, harmonica and banjo), Aaron Burnett (cello and bass guitar) and Matt Adolf (keyboard). Musical influences include U2, Ani DiFranco, David Byrne and Simon & Garfunkel. While considered a folk band, their music emanates influences of blues, country, and rock that appeal to a wide range of music listeners.
There is no doubt that the music world will be hearing from Cultured Cowboy in the near future.
