In the long standing tradition of the South hitting national radio with a vengeance, Cupid, Louisiana’s newest superstar, stands at the top of the hot new artist list – ready to take the Hip-Hop / R&B world by storm. Anyone who’s heard Cupid’s self-titled CD, would agree that it’s anything but an ordinary contemporary R&B album. Unlike much of today’s sometimes insipid commercial R&B, which relies heavily on samples and over-explicit promises of sex for lyrics, Cupid’s creation is arguably different, but nevertheless, sensuous and thought-provoking.
Already a club standard along Louisiana’s “I-10 Strip,” (from Lake Charles to New Orleans) the first single, “Do Yo’ Thang 2 featuring Hot Boy Ronald” incorporates the new wave of R&B with the “hip-hopping bounce” of New Orleans. The second single, “Check Yo’ Girl, Check Yo Guy” is currently blowing away all competitors on the local charts. Masterfully blending the soulful psycho-sensual funk of Maxwell, and the catchy Street R&B of Usher, this song’s theme is fast becoming the anthem of the innocent club-goer who gets “caught up” when the lover of the person they just happened to have unknowingly begun talking to, shows up and tries to “check” the newcomer.
With electrifying dance moves, and a 5-octave voice born from Gospel roots, this young artist is soon to be the talk of the music industry. The next Maxwell? No. The next Usher? No. Just Cupid. One voice, from the heart. Are You Ready?

Anyone who’s heard Cupid’s music would agree that it’s anything but an ordinary contemporary R&B album. Unlike much of today’s sometimes insipid commercial R&B, which relies heavily on samples and over-explicit promises of sex for lyrics, Cupid’s creation is arguably different, but nevertheless, sensuous and thought-provoking.
The 24 year old singer, songwriter, and producer, has a musical style unlike anyone in the music industry today. Cupid displays a very unique style that he calls “Dirty South R&B”. Dirty South R&B is a mixture of our traditional R&B with a taste of Krunk. Not only does Cupid’s music makes you want to cuddle with your loved one but also make you get Krunk in the club. Perfecting his style of music, Cupid is proclaimed to be “The King of Dirty South R&B”. As though Cupid has many strong talents, one of his strongest, other than his lyrical style, is his stage pressence.
Cupid shows are non-stop action.The energy level created by Cupid and his dancers are unbeleivable from beginning to the end of the show. Cupid also participate in the choreaography for all of his shows. Cupid was just named “Entertainer of the Year” at the most recent 3rd Coast Music Awards. Between his vocal skills and awesome dance moves Cupid has the capabilities to not only capture, but also hold his audience attention and hearts, leaving them wanting more. Cupid is currently working on his next project called “2 Sides to Every Story” to be released in late August.
