Bio
Exhuberant and infectious...
... a spirited romp in the art of song.
From "dirty roots " springs offerings of good things to come.
Sculpting from a wide range of influence spanning folk to funk, with a good dash of blues and metal, The Curbsiders manage to blend everyones ideas into a unique fusion of modern alternative rock. Jayme's poetic ramble flows evenly with the eclectic combination of Justin's hard hitting drumlines; Steve and Lowell's interwoven layers of melodic mayhem; and Solo's deeply resonant bass. To see The CMC play live is to experience the sweaty essence of rock-n-roll. Weaving, as they do, from soft acoustic intros into solid driving songs then suddenly into precarious improvisational jams and back again.
It is the sound of a long and winding road trip, a carnival with a crooked ferris wheel...
...it is a garden as full of weeds as it is flowers.
Thoughtfull and refreshing, it is at the same time both comfortable and disconcerting. You have never heard such a sweet voice telling you where to go.
After playing together for more than a decade in various basements, barns and rehearsal spaces, drummer Justin Therien, guitarists Steve Jack and Lowell Friesen, joined forces with bassist Solo Kaleikini and vocalist Jayme Mckillop in the fall of 2004 to form the current lineup of Curbside Music Co..
