Curbside Poets, made up of Ryan Spencer and Mike Williams is an acoustic duo, pounding out refreshing melodies with lyrics that you’ll feel.
The band, hailing from St. John’s was formed in 2008 and while the group may be in the early stage of its musical life cycle, these two most certainly are not. After playing in several rock bands together in and around St. John’s, Ryan and Mike both realized their passion for a more acoustic style of music.
Driven by the sounds of Jeff Buckley, Gord Downie, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and John Mayer, just to name a few. These guys look to expand their unique style of acoustic rock outside of the bars and pubs of George St. and into the ears of whoever wants to listen.
Their songs incorporate many styles like folk, pop, rock, and a little traditional. They will leave you feeling ready to take on the world with their catchy riffs and powerful vocals that get stuck in your head all day.
With talks of recording their new material being thrown around, look for a possible EP in the spring of 2009.
