Bio

It was a decade ago that two brothers (Chris and Kyle Cooper) discovered their passion for writing music individually. Through the course of a few years they parted ways with their other projects once they realized the chemistry they had between each other;and thus, Cure for the Radio was born. The brothers moved cities to recruit long lost childhood friend and bassist, Kevin Barton. Many lineup changes were endured throughout the years, but one friend always remained throughout it all, Sound manipulator Ted Martinez. Established throughout the San Antonio music scene, Cure for the radio has played everything from high school proms, back porches, various festivals to upscale music venues. Cure for the radio has shared the stages with such amazing national bands such as Peelander Z, Royal Bangs, Tera Melos, The Start, Motion City Soundtrack, Crystal Antlers, This Will Destroy You, Colour Music, Tiger City, and many many more. In 2012 Cure for the radio released its first ep titled "Oh My, How You've Grown Accustomed To The Fire In Your Veins", And quickly positive reviews as well media buzz have taken place in the bands lives. Singer and drummer Chris Cooper states his feelings and takes on the idea of Cure for the radio and the songwriting process. "We like to write poetic and genuine music with a sense of seriousness, not too serious though. We like to write about social experiences, and politics." Our music isn't background noise, it demands your attention." The band has developed a sound composed of upbeat melodies full of dance like riffs capturing raw emotion with powerful vocals and lyrics. Recently performing on the local news, the band quickly spread word of their future and their place to stay in the music scene's history. Once San Antonio is conquered, the band will take their passion to the Austin scene, as well as a east coast national tour.
