An instrumental rock band, Curiously Strong has a diverse high-energy repertoire extending from driving guitar solos, furious drumming and funky bass chords to smooth melodies with tempered rhythms. With songs like "Two Guitars and the Blues" and "Drifting Like a Butterfly on a Warm Summer's Breeze", Curiously Strong's originals showcase a fresh blend of blues, jazz, surf, and metal. This three-piece band brings their own original twist to songs by the Ventures, Dick Dale and others, providing infectious entertainment that draws people to dance, smile and groove.
Curiously Strong provides quality entertainment for all age groups; music that spans a variety of genres including metal, surf, blues and jazz; covers from various generations beginning with the 60's; and experienced playing a variety of venues from coffee shops to outdoor stadiums.
Curiously Strong began in the Spring of 2003 when Jeff Halfacre and Joe Brazill began playing together. Bassist Tiana Alporque joined the band in 2004. Their musical influences include the Ventures, Freddy King, Dick Dale, Metallica, Link Wray, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Aaron Copland, Bjork, Iron Maiden and more.
Curiously Strong has played at coffee shops, car shows and outdoor festivals.
