Curly Jefferson is not a person, it's a band. Okay, to be fair, it's also the name of a guy glued to the ceiling of an underwater cave somewhere in the UK. But that was a long time ago and we're pretty sure the statute of limitations has run out by now...
Curly Jefferson chooses its repertoire using one standard: they want everyone in the audience to say to themselves, "We HAVE to dance to THAT one!" Using that philosophy, the band creates an unstoppable dance party.
Curly Jefferson came together as a lucky confluence of two pairs of experienced musicians. Jeff D and Paige D are a couple of veteran musicians, and also a couple - as in, married. They met Jay S and Jeff S, who have been friends and musical cohorts for decades, and the four quickly realized that together they created a rare musical chemistry.
The original four quickly assembled a repertoire of over 50 songs, while searching for a singer who shared their drive and vision. After a few false starts they came to realize that Jimmy C was that singer, and the result was a band that can drive audiences to frenzied gyration!
The band's wide swath of material allows it to "shift on the fly," providing a show that features party rock from the New Wave of the ‘70s to the hits of today, depending on the cues they get from the audience.
