"CD Review Metal To Infinity (Belgium)"

"Cursed Eternity brings us is a mixture of different styles of Metal. Classic - Death - Power - Thrash - Proggressive Metal, they have it all! Sometimes it's rough, wild and aggressive and at other times we hear the more technical, intense and melodic parts of the band. Pretty amazing and very good to hear a band doing something a different for a change."

- Stefan Silghem

"Peer CD Review"

"I enjoyed these tracks. The musicianship is definitely there and it shows with how tight and consistent the recording is. These songs bring me back to a refreshing era with similarities to In Flames and Metallica (old). Here's my no bullshit random opinions: I prefer the harsh vocals over the melodic ones. I love the guitar/drum work. A second guitarist would be a wise decision.
The keyboard/piano is done well and very tasteful." Chris Spicuzza- Chimaira - Chris Spicuzza - Chimaira (Road Runner Records)

"Classic Metal Fest CD Review"

"CURSED ETERNITY'S new CD is a good piece of solid metal with thrash and classic metal influences. They also throw in some nu-metal vibe, which is respectfully not over done and doesn't ruin the whole true metal feel. It is a very good listen." - Brad Youngblood

DETROIT’S ‘CURSED ETERNITY’ RAMS THE RIVETS INTO REBORN METAL SCENE

Self-titled EP is steeped in classic metal influences, from Maiden to Death to Savatage

(Detroit, MI) - April 30, 2004 - Cursed Eternity, one of Metro-Detroit’s burgeoning metal bands, today unleashed their self-titled EP onto the scene. With a deft, hard-nosed foundation of Melodic Power Metal and Black Metal -- not to mention, a dose of good ol’ American Thrash -- the freshly cut tracks have been hailed by sold-out crowds at several pre-release showcases since early March.

“Over the years, the mecca that was metal has decayed,” said Dick Ward, Cursed Eternity’s keyboardist/backing vocalist. “We’re here to pour the kerosene, light the match, and explode that scene once again.”

From the onset of the album’s first drum-drenched single, "Betrayed," it’s obvious the band isn’t shy about paying homage to its influences. The unique sound of the riff -- a sly cocktail of Savatage, Blind Guardian, Borknagar, and Crematory -- assaults listeners from every high-wattage audio channel. No home theater rig or car stereo is safe.

But if one song could sum up Cursed Eternity’s entire musicology, it would be “The Unwanted.” Here, the four-man ensemble runs wild with its classic metal inspirations: Maiden-esque guitar themes hurry the song to a gallop; an Obituary-styled core of death-metal maintains the eardrum-bleeding energy; and a crescendo of trash-riff domination carries out the high-octane track.

Comprised of five relentless songs, and two mesmerizing piano compositions, Cursed Eternity’s self-titled EP is available now through CD Baby Distribution (www.cdbaby.com), at dozens of Metro-Detroit’s finest independent music huts, or from the band themselves (www.cursedeternity.com).

ABOUT CURSED ETERNITY:
Born in the outskirts of suburban Detroit, the band’s ten-year history has proven integral to its unique blend of melodic, dark metal. Having shared the stage with hundreds of notables, Cursed Eternity has yet to be outdone in way of performance theatrics or in the pure, live evolution of the music itself.

Recorded in early January 2004 at Sound Camp Studios in Detroit, Cursed Eternity’s first EP is the zenith of more than a year of development, be it private recording sessions or over 40 memorable, often-unpredictable shows. A full-length release is due out later this year, to be followed by an east coast club tour.

Dick Ward (keyboards/backing vocals), Mike Parks (drums/piano/backing vocals), Joe Grode (guitars/lead vocals), and Alan Budlong (bass guitars) are Cursed Eternity. Accept no metal substitutes.
