Bio

Curtains as a Cloak are certainly no amateurs to the music scene. Singer Mike Rosabal and guitarist Bobby Torres have been creating music since 2004. The pair met playing for a heavy metal band in their early years as musicians. However, they both knew that they were capable of much more than just heavy metal. The pair broke off from their project to form Akora in 2005. The new project laid the foundation for what they eventually would become; a rock band with a metal core. Akora began playing shows and building a name for themselves through 2005. They eventually grabbed the attention of Soulfly guitarist Marc Rizzo’s label Phlamencore Records. With strong melodic vocals and complex yet catchy riffs the group was on their way to success. However, in late 2006 Mike made the decision to leave the band in order to complete his college education. Although no longer band mates, Mike and Bobby kept in touch. Mike completed his college education in March of 2007. Shortly after the pair started their new side project The Elegant End. The duo originally planned to write and record a three song demo themselves using Bobby’s recording studio in Clifton, NJ. This plan fell to the wind when Bobby began recording Jake Rea and his former band Silence Will Fail. Jake’s drumming ability, professionalism, and dedication made him the best option for a studio drummer. The trio began preparing to record the three song demo. The chemistry was undeniable and Jake became the third member in 2008. With the creative lineup set and a new name, Curtains as a Cloak, the group began working on their recently completed self-titled album. Curtains as a Cloak’s album is a beautifully crafted mix of Heavy Rock and Metal with touches of other genres. The album is set to release late 2010.
