Lyrics

Lines Upon Your Face

Written By: Curtis Murphy, Joel Hellman, Mark Williams

You've been hiding in the corner
Waiting for passing sirens
Take All your memories tormenting you
Shake them from your hair

You've been lurking in shadows feeling
Helpless haunted by your demons
You got locked up in your closet
They Whisper inside your head

No, no, nothing's gonna ring true for you in all your life

*
You can't change anything in the rearview mirror
Go on, take your pain & throw it all away
There's no room for it here
You can't change the lines upon your face
*

You've been cradled in the comfort of your
Crazy web of safety
Slipping slowly through the cracks between the
Fingers of the hands of time

CHORUS

Swim a day in another man's life
& find you can barely breathe
Stroll the line you've been trying to write
No place for fear inside
Just leave it all behind

CHORUS

Be Flat

Written By: Curtis Murphy

She’s only been living here
Couple times a week
There must be someplace else that she likes to be
I’ve only been trying to hold on to what we have
Must not be that much now looking back

But every time she does a leave-behind
Telling me that she’ll be coming back home
I’ve been in my most pathetic state
Anxiously waiting by the phone

Well, I might be a little late
For me to keep her smiling
It ain’t no secret I screw up sometimes
When everything seems lost
You still see me trying
To keep that little shimmer in her eyes

But every time - she leaves behind
It tells me that she’ll be coming back
Well, I been in my most pathetic state
Anxiously waiting by the phone

CHORUS

At the Seams

Written By: Curtis Murphy, Joel Hellman, Justin Apergis, & Forrest Robinson

All we know will change
Everything will fall apart at the seams
Maybe we can find a little something sweet
Before everything around us grows sour & crumbles to the ground

Caught in the crazy wake of this world spinning so out of control!

I won’t be the one
To take you to places you desire
Maybe these places you’re longing for
Are places to find on your own
I said, I won’t be the one
To take you to places you belong
Maybe these places you’re longing for
Are places you’ve just gotta find on our own

So, take from me what’s yours
Everything your heart desires to explore
Drink me like a glass of succulent red wine
Before everything about us grows sour & withers on the vine

Caught in the crazy wake of this world spinning so out of control!

CHORUS

Honey, look at us trembling
Falling down alone
Hold on to memories
Until we get home…

Everything’s gonna crumble to the ground
If we don’t get home
Everything’s gonna crumble to the ground
If we don’t get home
Everything’s gonna crumble to the ground

Baby… this crazy world is spinning so out of control!!!!

CHORUS

Take A Little While

Written By: Curtis Murphy, Mark Williams

I may not be the first one to tell you but it's true money truly buys a smile
Though far away, I set my sights upon it & I know I'm gonna get it 'cause I really, really want it

***
Might take a little while to get a view from the mountaintop
Might take a little while 'til I can fly away
Might take a little while to earn a seat on the top of the world
It might take a little while but I'll be alright... here
***

You never know what you might be doing when the curtain falls on you
With no regrets see me dancing to the music and I'm hoping you're in tune to the rhythms & the grooves 'cause it might....

CHORUS

I won't be the last man to make my mark inside here
Don't tell me I can't stand on top of the pile that another man built!

It always seems, all that we desire's just a little too far out of reach
No matter what we gain there's always gonna be that other thang, that keeps drivin' us insane

CHORUS

It's taking me a while to find the mountain top
It's taking me a while

Might take a little while to climb up to the mountain top
Might take a little while... I'm alright

Draggin' Me Down (tourbus to breck.)

Written By: Curtis Murphy

Tell Me Straight
Where do you go when I fall asleep?
No more lies!
There's no merit in your alibis

Love & hate
I've had all I can take
Go away!
I don't ever wanna see your face

After the moon passes by a few times
Maybe I'll be all that I'm dreaming
Reaching for stars in the sky
so maybe I'll be all that I'm dreaming
Every last desire will splash on my tongue
It's just up ahead, around the bend
I can't taste 'til I drop all this weight that's Draggin' Me Down
It's Draggin' Me Down
He's Draggin' Me Down
I'm Draggin' Me Down

Tell me straight
What will it take for you to disipate?
Name your price
You're ruining my fucking life

After the moon passes by a few times
Maybe I'll be all that I'm dreaming
Reaching for stars in the sky
so maybe I'll be all that I'm dreaming
No more wasting time procrastinating
It's just up ahead, around the bend
I can't taste 'til I drop all this weight that's Draggin' Me Down

I keep reaching for the heavens
Keep getting knocked back
Seems I'm always lagging behind
There's way too many ways to waste my time!

After the moon passes by a few times
Maybe I'll be all that I'm dreaming
Reaching for stars in the sky
so maybe I'll be all that I'm dreaming
Every last desire will splash on my tongue
It's just up ahead, around the bend
I can't taste 'til I drop all this weight that's Draggin' Me Down
It's Draggin' Me Down
He's Draggin' Me Down
I'm Draggin' Me Down

"Smoke & Mirrors"

"Smoke & Mirrors"
written by Curtis Murphy

We can all live a lie
keep pretending everything's alright
It might hurt little less in the morning

We can plan all our dreams
lovely futures full of jelly beans
We can bask in the glow of false hope

CHORUS:

Tell me something
Tell me what you want them to do
when you cease to be you
Monuments don't really reach the sky
Tell me something
Tell me how I'm making a dent
in the fabric of time
Rainbows never really touch the ground

We can sit on the porch
singing love songs 'til the end of the world
We can laugh at the cracks in the moon

Go on count all your sheep
leaping crazy thru your cotton sheets
In the end who the hell's counting you

CHORUS

I'll record everything
that's protruding from my lips today
In the hope that I'll write me a castle

CHORUS

We can all live a lie
keep pretending everything's alright
It might hurt little less in the morning

"All that I Want"

Written By: Curtis Murphy

No room for shame
No motive to lie
No time for the games
No reason to hide
So I am coming clean
I'm gonna paint you a picture
that's easy to see

All the I Want
All that I seek
All that I'll ever need is you

I've dreamed in the days
I've hoped in the nights
I've hoped you would say
You dream to be mine
& a craving swells down deep
& all of your worldly troubles
might soon disappear

b/c All that you want
& all that you seek
& all that you'll ever need is me

My heart is frozen & empty
part of my soul goes missing
every time you decide to leave

No room for shame
No motive to lie
No time for the games
No reason to hide
So I am coming clean
I'm gonna paint you a picture
that's easy to see

All the I Want
All that I seek
All that I'll ever need is you

"Pass the Time Away"

Written By: Curtis Murphy Syndicate

Nothing's going on with anyone anywhere
we're gonna have to entertain ourselves
There must be something here that we can do so how about you contribute thoughts to our lost cause.

What we need is just a little something sweet to help us Pass the Time Away

Time's the only thing that stands between our sanity &
sleep's the only thing to make it disipate
while the night is young, my eyes are wide, my dying mind won't gather up the strength to hibernate

What we need is just a little something sweet to help us Pass the Time Away.
What we do is try to conjure something cool so we can waste all the day.
What we need is just a little something sweet to help us Pass the Time Away.

Goblins dance among the shadows by the candlelight.
Crazy is the gaze from their resplendent eyes.
The way they're mocking me they're surely gonna drive me mad.
I've gotta find a way to break on out.

What we need is just a little something sweet to help us Pass the Time Away.
What we do is try to conjure something cool so we can waste all the day.
What we need is just a little something sweet to help us Pass the Time Away.

"Head Above the Water"

"HEAD ABOVE THE WATER"
by Curtis Murphy

Don't ya worry about nothing, darling
I will carry you through
I'll deliver you safe
As I promised I'd do
And if the world spins us upside down
I'll pick you up, I'll dust you off
I'll get you rolling again.
I'll destroy any other man who gets out of line
So won't you give me a smile,
and wipe that scared look from your eyes

I will hold your
Head Above the Water
I'll never let you come to harm, no, no
I will hold your
Head Above the Water
I'll be your magic carpet ride of love

I'll be on your side when it ends
No, there's nothing that I will not do to defend
Everything that you are
I saw you gallop in on sunlight beams
You are an angel from above
You can not hide that from me
Amidst the glow I saw you spread your wings
And take to the sky, I made a promise that night
I would never let you die

No, I will hold your
Head Above the Water
I'll never let you come to harm, no, no
I will hold your
Head Above the Water
I'll be your magic carpet ride of love

I'll be on your side 'til it ends

“Feeding the Flame”

By: Curtis Murphy, Miklos Malek, Justin Apergis, Joel Hellman
©July, 2008

Won’t somebody come wash away all the rain from yesterday’s flood?
Won’t somebody come take away all the pain from yesterday’s war?
I look at our hands now, all covered in blood

Something here might pull away all the light from all of our eyes.
Something here might poison the innocence, if any survived.
I look at our lives now, buried in shame!

Take me back to the ignorant safety I knew as a child
Everything’s burning down to the ground.
I realize all I’ve been doing is Feeding the Flame.
Feeding the Flame

I won’t go chasing my tail so pathetically around and around.
I won’t just leap in the river unconsciously, I see what it’s done.
I look at their faces, blinded by hope!

Take me back to the ignorant safety I knew as a child
Everything’s burning down to the ground.
I realize all I’ve been doing is Feeding the Flame.
Feeding the Flame

We keep sinking back again
Running on Vicodin
And we’re spinning out of reach
My baby says “all that I know is I simply need to find my way home to you”

I look at their hands now, all covered in blood!

Take me back to the ignorant safety I knew as a child
Everything’s burning down to the ground.
I realize all I’ve been doing is Feeding the Flame.
Feeding the Flame
