Bio

"Meeting whilst at university, Tom, Jake, George, Josh and Joe formed a band to bring fun and games to the public. With a sound different and unique, yet with popular qualities and catchy hooks, they began to write and are eager to play to people with smiles on their faces and dancing shoes on their feet."
Each member of the band has different musical influences, ranging from Rod Stewart to Aphex Twin, and Oasis to The Cinematic Orchestra resulting in a sound which has been described as "a cross between The Police and Bloc Party".
Cut Cut Shape's first gig was at Anglia Ruskin University in front of a packed crowd. Here they showcased 6 songs that they had written over the few months they had been together. After the gig a number of people asked the band whether they could buy any demos or cds from the band, which led to the possibility of a short demo getting recorded.
In January of 2007, Cut Cut Shape recorded two songs; "Gent", and "Ways of the World". These two songs were then uploaded on to the ever popular music website MySpace, where they received a great response from their ever growing fan base.
It was not long after these songs were recorded that local venues were contacting members of the band, asking if they were available to play gigs for them, which gave Cut Cut Shape the chance to get their name and sound out into the very big and popular Cambridge music scene.
The band then wrote a new song, entitled "Crossing the Line". They knew as soon as they wrote it that they had to record it as soon as possible and give people another taste of what they could create.
After "Crossing the Line" was recorded, Cut Cut Shape had their track played on Cambridge University Radio, which again won them fans across Cambridge; they were finally starting to realise their potential with music, and started to write more songs in order to lengthen their live show.
In September 2007 Cut Cut Shape went back into the studio and recorded two new songs; "Hey", which is a more commercial radio friendly song, and "See You", which is the most experimental, progressive song Cut Cut Shape have written so far.
With two or three more songs set to be recorded within the next year, and several gigs coming up, expect to see and hear a lot more from Cut Cut Shape...
