"Sally Walker Hudecki // June 19, 2009 // NxNE @ Rancho Relaxo"

"Cut Throat Britva — named for a Nadsat word from Anthony Burgess’s A Clockwork Orange meaning “razor” — are certainly as sharp and enigmatic as their droogie counterparts, although slightly less threatening...Their style was a welcome rock and roll respite to a crowd perhaps bored by the synths and wannabe attitude of the day...Cut Throat Britva have a cunning leader in Timmermans and the well-matched backing band (with a particularly gifted bass player) proved last night to be making each place they go just a bit more dobby, as those young droogs would say — that is, good."

"Dan Wolovik of Two Way Monologues"

"A lotta bit rock, a lotta bit garage...This band is fastly improving and gaining a huge local following... jump on the bus... gus!"

"Cut Throat [] are a heat-seeking missle looking for a place to explode musically and literally" - http://www.twowaymonologues.com/

"Lonely Vagabond"

"...a pounding assault of rock energy, infused with a little garage-rock spirit. Definitely a band worthy of more attention."

"Excellent turn out at Rancho Relaxo, for catchy, foot-stomping guitar-driven rock and roll." - Lonely Vagabond

"Pete Nema // October 20, 2009 // Horseshoe Tavern"

"Seeing one great band I already knew (We Are The Take) followed by another amazing band that got me buzzing (The Temper Trap) meant I wasn't quite ready to head home yet. Next up was Cut Throat Britva, a band with a name derived from the novel (or movie) A Clockwork Orange. They played loud, strong rock that could probably be compared in some ways to Big Wreck. Sure, I was in a good mood from the previous two bands, but I liked what I heard. Caleb Timmermans (vocals, guitar) has curiously wild hair, and Zaddi Pesino (guitar) was great to watch with his geeky-yet-wild playing style. Cool hard rock."

Bio

Cut Throat Britva is a four-piece Toronto-based rock and roll group. They incorporate memorable melodies with a wild spirit, basking in elements of good hard rock - from garage to grunge to modern arena. Their music is often described as a royal marriage between Kings of Leon and Queens of the Stone Age accompanied by the hard-hitting rhythms of Nirvana and boundless energy of the Libertines.

In their relatively short time together, Cut Throat Britva have played NXNE, CMW, and a multitude of shows across Southern Ontario, and have shared the stage with The Temper Trap and Young Rival. They have also garnered recognition from Toronto rock radio station, Edge 102.1, playing the studio twice and have been featured in their “On the Edge of the Edge” web series. Their music has been featured in Hi-Hat Records Compliation #4. Their first EP was recorded with producer Tom McKay (Joydrop).
