"Metal Maiden On Cutting Edge"

Cassie The Metal Maiden
Saturday Nights 6-10 pm

Cutting Edge is an extremely talented group of guys that, in my opinion, will go far. Their music is ... music! The group is tight, the vocals are heavy and fitting. It has been a long time since a group as young as Cutting Edge has come along with such displayed ambition and sheer talent through and through.
I recently had the pleasure if a live on-air phone interview with Cutting Edge on TrackOne Radio. It was a pleasure to talk with a serious yet fun group of guys. I have to add that I find their songwriting ability is topmost; each of their song lyrics tell a story that is real and true.
Cutting Edge songs that are in rotation on TrackOne Radio and heard on my show - Cassie the Metal Maiden are:
Speed.Power.Vengeance ?Angel Dust - ?In Darkness -?English Breakfast
I am looking forward to adding more Cutting Edge tunes. These guys Rock - TrackOne Radio

Bio

In early 2005 Mike Marrone (drums) and Joe Birkmann (guitar) came together in an epic meeting that would begin the journey to Cutting Edge, one of the most original and talented bands to hit the scene in years. In those early days, songs were written and the foundation was laid for what would become 2007’s Speed.Power.Vengeance EP. The songs where so strong, that Birkmann and Marrone realizing the potential of their new project enlisted the aid of Joe Marino who shared the stage with Marrone in rock sensations OutCry in the early 00’s. The quartet began their quest for a vocalist in the spring of ’06 and shortly after Vic Starsky was found. With a complete line up, the band embarked on their quest to bring their music to the masses. The songs that would comprise SPV would be completed during this time. In early December 2006 the band entered Prime Time Studios in Yonkers, NY and with engineer Tarik Solangi at the helm produced their very first EP.

SPV was met with much anticipation, released January 12, 2007 to a packed house at the NY Rock Aid Festival where Cutting Edge shared the stage with 80s metal sensations Lazarus in front of thousands of fans. The demo sold out its first night and it was clear that the band had some serious work to do. Shortly afterwards, Gianluca Minucci stepped in to the bands bass playing postion. Minucci made the band complete and his attitude and style made the perfect addition to Cutting Edge.

Cutting Edge's music is a mixture of supreme musicianship, hooky chorus's, aggression, and a strong desire to produce music that is truly unique. The band's influences include Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, Enter Shikari, Radiohead, Tool, and King Crimson, just to name a few.

The band went into a 4 month solitude after the demo release, writing as much new material as they could, preparing for what will soon become the bands first full length recording. The new material was played for fans as a special surprise during their spring/summer ’07 leg of New York shows. The material was met with much adoration and the hype for the new album is even greater than that of SPV. The full length will consist of the 4 songs on the EP, Speed.Power.Vengeance, Angel Dust, In Darkness, and English Breakfast with the inclusion of 7 new songs. The new LP promises to be the bands big break and is one of 2008’s most highly anticipated releases; only time will tell to see how far these young juggernauts of rock will rise. The sky’s the limit within Cutting Edge so sit back and enjoy the ride.
