Era uma vez um grupo de meninos acabados de chegar de Cabo Verde, carregados de sonhos e ilusões que todos nós trazemos da terra que não nos dava muitas oportunidades. O grupo acabou por se envolver em gangs com consequências desastrosas...
A história dos CV Boys podia começar assim, como tem acontecido na última página da história da nossa imigração.
NÃO! Esta não é a história dos CV Boys, um exemplo para a nossa comunidade. O grupo conta com 4 engenheiros: Os irmãos Filipe, Domingos e Filomena e o namorado desta, António da Rosa. Os outros elementos do grupo são igualmente conhecidos profissionais e chefes de família.
Autodidactas da música
Os CV Boys, todos da mesma aldeia nos Mosteiros Fogo, traçaram seu rumo na música e projectaram profissionalmente sua vida fora dos palcos.
Tudo começou com um teclado. Um instrumento mágico, para quem, como muitos meninos da terra começaram improvisando suas baterias e violas de latas, seus clarinetes de caniço etc.
Eram três tocando a uma mão, no referido teclado, em casa.
José da Rosa tinha dedos mais grossos e pisava duas teclas ao mesmo tempo. “Empurrou”os outros para outros instrumentos. E assim começou a formação dos CV Boys que, depois de aprenderem sem um mestre, estrearam-se no Liceu Madison Park em Boston onde estudavam.
Já lá vão 8 anos e não mais pararam, embora não apareçam muitas vezes nos palcos. Devagar se vai longe é o lema do grupo que chegou a oferecer seus préstimos para animarem as noites do Bar Di Nôs em Brockton e outros centros de lazer da comunidade.
Gravar um disco é o sonho de qualquer artista ou conjunto. CV Boys não era excepção. Demorou cerca de 7 anos para que o sonho se concretizasse. Depois de sucessivas negas andando de estúdios em estúdios, apareceu Frantz Rolling que lhes deu um mão. O produtor haitiano que foi homenageado no dia do lançamento do CD no passado dia 19 de Novembro em Brockton.
Djoi Delgado e Grace Évora dos Splash encarregaram-se da mixagem em França e Holanda. Eis que CV Boys lança Un só Korasaun.
O grupo planeia efectuar vários lançamentos em diferentes locais. O líder do conjunto é ambicioso. Filipe sonha com uma tourné mundial e fazer com o grupo venha a viver exclusivamente da música.

On Friday May 12th, CV-Boys Band will compete in the Emergenza Music Festival’s battle of the bands, the European and North American Live Festival for Up and coming Bands, to take place at the Paradise Lounge in Boston.
The band went through preliminary rounds in February (at the Middle East Club) and March, battling against several Rock & Roll bands before finally moving to this legendary rock club for the Regional Semifinals.
Founded in 1999, this Boston-based nine-piece band released “Un So Korasaun,” (November 2005) an album now available in record stores such as Best Buy, Circuit City, Sam Goody, Newbury Comics, Virgin Megastore etc…
Born fifteen years ago in Europe from a group of passionate musicians in need of expression, Emergenza has become one of the most prominent musical contests for up and coming bands as far as international dimensions and coordination are concerned. This festival has already organized over 5000 shows and attracted more than 4000 bands from around the world. - CVMusicWorld.com

Once upon on a time a group of children arrived from Cape Verde Island, loaded of dreams and illusions that we all bring from our mother land that did not give us many opportunities. The group finished for involving in gangs and with disastrous consequences...
The history of the CV BOYS band could start the same way, as it has happened in the last page of the history of our immigration.
NOT! This is not the history of t he CV BOYS band, an example for our community. The group counts on 4 engineers: The brothers Filipe, Domingos, sister Filomena and her boyfriend, António Darosa. The other elements of the group equally are known as head of the family and professionals.
Self-taughts of music
The CV BOYS band, all of the same village in the Mosteiros Fogo, had traced its route in music and project their life professionally out of the stage.
Everything started with a keyboard. A magical instrument, for whom, as many boys of our country had started improvising their drum and guitar of cans, their clarinet of bamboo etc.
They were three playing with one hand each, in the related keyboard, at home.
Jose Darosa had thicker fingers and stepped on two keyboard keys at the same time. Make the others go for other instruments. And thus started the formation of the CV BOYS band that, after learning without a master, debut for the first time at Madison Park Technical Vocational High School in Boston where they all graduated.
Already 8 years have gone but they have not stopped since, even so do not appear many times in the stage. Slow will go far is the mentality of the group that arrived to offer their talent to entertain the nights of the Bar Di Nôs in Brockton and other centers of leisure of the community.
To record an album is the dream of any artist or band. CV BOYS band was not an exception. It took about 7 years so that dream became a reality. After successive denies of walking studios by studios, appeared Frantz Rolling that gave a hand to them. The Haitian producer that was honored in the day of the release party in the past 19 of November 2005 in Brockton.
Djoy Delgado and Grace Évora of the Splash had been in charge of the mixing in Holland and the mastering in France. Here it where CV BOYS band release “Un So Korasaun” album.
The group plan to do many shows in different places. The leader of the band is ambitious. Filipe dreams of one tour world-wide and to make with the group comes to live exclusively of music.
