Hailing from Detroit,MI Calvin "C" Winbush II is a multi-instrumentalist who uses singing and rapping interchangeably in his songs, blending genres from Hip-Hop, Motown, Alternative Rock and sometimes Pop into a beautiful style deemed Alternative Hip-Hop. Picking up his first instrument - the saxophone - in 3rd grade, C found his talent early on. Winning several awards and scholarships, C then went on to learn Piano, Guitar, Bass and Drums.

His early influences were Prince, and Michael Jackson as well as two very contrasting groups he fell in love with at the same time: "I remember going through my Dad's cd collection when he was at work and stumbling across Old Dirty Bastard's Escape from the 36 chambers and Beatles Anthology and playing both of them until they were too scratched up to play. As different as those pieces of work are, I feel they both set me on a great course as a songwriter and artist. Pushing boundaries of the craft and fearless self expression are staples of both projects."

After working as a producer and songwriter, C set out as an artist in early 2012 forming a band and quickly making a name for himself throughout Southern California with songs like "Swag" "Glory" and "Underground". "After performing a bunch, I was surprised at the effect my music had on people. My fans love the combination of someone playing an instrument and rapping and singing, and I love performing that way."

Now set to release his EP "No Excuses " on September 13th, C is currently performing throughout the US before hitting the road to perform throughout Europe this fall.
