This writer did not know what to expect from Cybadrummer. After attending countless metal and rock gigs this was going to be something new. Cybadrummer provides the musical mind with a plethora of emotion and installs a feel good factor better than 3 hours in the gym.
In this instance Cybadrummer played in a unique collaboration with Whistlejacket. They had rehearsed once before the show yet jelled like musicians who'd been together since birth.
Ed Freitas is a musical master who's eclectic mix of hard drumming, trance based backing & a show stopping line up of singers makes the neck hairs stand prouder than a Buck House guardsman. In this instance, throw an array of laser lights into the equation and gigging doesn't get much better.
A Cybadrummer show is unique, utterly different and pure musical brilliance. If you like rock, you'll like Cyba, if you like dance, you'll like Cyba, if you like a soulful hip hop beat, you'll like Cyba. If you like drums and drumming you'll probably just wet your pants.
Tonight Ed brought not only brilliant singers into his mix pot, but three guys who entered into a drumming play off. The effect provided a stage show akin to theatre and total sensory heaven for this writer.
I cannot stress enough how much I like this sound (you might have guessed). For this old rocker who dabbles in trance music, Cybadrummer made me smile big, I found a niche of music I didn't know existed and I'm now left wondering where it has been all my life. - Feedback Magazine / Jonny G.

CYBADRUMMER is the brainchild of Ed Freitas, a well regarded artist for his work as session drummer, producer, songwriter, DJ and all round performer around the globe (www.edfreitas.com). Between 2007–2012 alone he’s collectively performed in various music roles at over 1100 shows to audiences in 35 countries! His original tracks are presented in a hybrid electronic vein of dubstep, electro house, drum n bass and trance with the occasional injection of intense guitar riffs. This artist has become a show favourite at music festivals, clubs and venues around the globe!
The CYBADRUMMER idea was originally formulated during a drum clinic tour of the UK in 2006. Crowds frequently requested Ed’s tracks to be performed at masterclasses and clinics, and so the unique stage rig and performance began taking shape which ultimately led to the establishment of CYBADRUMMER as a recognised act, now touring and performance internationally.
He can be seen regularly sharing the stage and performing with artists such as Zoro (Lenny Kravitz), Jerry Brown (Girls Aloud, Natalie Imbruglia), Raul D'Oliveira (Elton John, Wham), Gerald Heyward (Beyonce), Tommy Aldridge (Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake), The Straps, Neighbourhood UK, Sarah Washington, Cathy Stocker, Simon Sampson amongst many others, and works with an endless list of bands including charting outfits around the world.
CYBADRUMMER is also regularly featured in the media, with radio and television appearances previously including Richard & Judy (Channel 4), BBC and ITV News, BBC documentaries, SKY and numerous foreign programmes in the USA, Germany and South Africa. Features on Ed in the printed media such as Rhythm magazine, Feedback Mag, Home & Away and in various newspapers are frequently published.
Alongside all this, he holds a Guinness World Record for the longest drum roll ever with Terl Bryant (John Paul Jones), Liam Watts (The Enemy) and Callum Rees (UK/Canadian session player). He is also widely known for being Director of the ‘World's Fastest Drummer’ organisation in the UK and Europe.
CYBADRUMMER’s influences in electronic music range from Pendulum, Chase & Status, to Skrillex, Daft Punk, Nero, Swedish House Mafia, Netsky and Deadmau5 amongst numerous others.
