"Crying Over You"

El Salvadorian born rapper Cynical Minded hones in on an interesting sound for his broken relationship-themed “Crying Over You.” The song’s music video features multiple frames following Cynical through the story that’s he’s telling through his crafted wordplay. Finished off with a dynamic instrumental based around dark drums, “Crying Over You” presents a solemn story perfectly matched with a solemn vibe. The video is directed by D-Hype. - Stone

"A Cynical Cry"

“I share this video for those whose Valentine's Day wasn't what they expected. However, I do pray it wasn't as bad the story line for this song. Cynical Minded dropped this beauty in my inbox and I just felt like I was watching the plot unfold of every heart break that occurs in a movie. You attempt to make things work (even with a person who's obviously trying to push away) only to have your heart involved in an emotional homicide. But, as I'm learning from personal experience...life will go on...they didn't deserve you...they can kiss your ass when you make it...etc, etc. It is nice to have these type of songs on your "fuck love" playlist though, before you go to the "I'mma enjoy this single life" playlist. Thugs need love too *tear tear*. Anyway...enjoy!” - K Nikki

"Cynical & Hype"

“This one goes to all those sick of plastic bullshit that is valentines day. Off of his latest mixtape "The Lone Wolf Project" that dropped last month comes the latest visuals for Cynical Minded's 'Crying Over You'” - Stewat Jarvis

"The Lone Wolf"

“Check out new album from D Hype and Cynical Minded. 1st of loved the conciousness in his rhymes. He has decided he will be speaking reality in his music. Gets very deep lyrical from religion to politics and life in general. I listened to the production and you can hear the Wu-tang similarites in sound. This is some underground NY Hip hop at it's finest Loved the homage to old school styles” - Blind Swordsman

"Cynical Minded"

Dude may be deep in his feelings but his flow is undeniable and I fuck with his art to tell a story in his rhymes. - Heaven Heights

"Four-In present “Rules Of Engagement” [@Four_In]"

Four-In really manned up with this 7-track and emotionally charged project. THese dudes don’t give a fuck… - Destro2012

Bio

Cynical Minded is an up-and-coming hip-hop artist from Silver Spring, Maryland. An aggressive, honest and ambitious lyricist, recalling the golden age of hip-hop.

He began rapping at 12 as a simple hobby, during the renaissance of '90s rap. By High School he was more serious, writing songs and performing at the school's talent shows. After High school, life re-routed his rap career and he went on hiatus.

It all changed in 2011 when he contacted his childhood friend D-Hype, a local producer/composer, and recorded  a few songs for himself. He gathered a few more childhood friends and started the hip-hop group Four-In. In that year, they recorded the EP Rules of Engagement, did their debut video for "War", built their own studio, then began performing: first Sonar [Baltimore], then opening for Black Rob at 1212 Suite D.C., then SXSW 2012 (alongside for Statik Selektah, Termanology, Oddissee, and Phil Ade), and culminating in 2013 with Mobb Deep, 2014 opened for Freddie Gibbs & Tech N9ne at the Howard Theatre in Washington, D.C. for their Independence Grind Tour. Participated in the Maniiifestation showcase in ATL for A3C festival last year. CM has also opened for Akrobatik, Sean Price, Ras Kass, Da Artifacts, Black Moon, Pharoahe Monch, Smif-n-Wessun, Heltah Skeltah, Brand Nubian all in 2015 alone.

During the Four-In period, he wrote and recorded his epic debut: a concept album over a foundation of D-Hype beats, called The Lone Wolf Project, based on the kung-fu movie Shogun Assassin. TLWP premiered on New Year's Day 2014, alongside its cinematic first video, "Genesis", to acclaim, followed by videos for "Precautions" and the controversial "Crying Over You". Now he is preparing his new installment of series called The Fist of the North Star. Starting with an EP in October 2016 to full length following after.
