Bio
Cynic Desire started out a 4 person band. Ashley, Chris Dissin, Chris Clark, and Hunter, playing their respected instruments. After George being present for one practice, he offered to lend them equipment, transportation, etc. He was asked to be their Roadie/Techie. After several months, he was asked to join the band as rhythm guitar.
Cynic Desire started out as a Rock/Gothic/Metal band with two songs, Slip Away and Game Time. Although, since the new year, they have decided to try to find a true genre that fits them better.
Although, when it comes to each other's influences, they are really a rag-tag group of musicians. Ashley's main influences are that of a 'goth rock' with Marilyn Manson, Evanescence and Nine Inch Nails. Chris Dissin picks and shreds his way with a background of Thrice, AFI, and the Dillinger Escape Plan. Hunter Ross plays it cool with the simple sounding, yet sometimes complex, bass riffs of Eric Clapton and Yes, also with a little mix of Rob Zombie. Chris Clark provides the beat and bangs away to Metallica, Rise Against, and Led Zeppelin. And George Roberts learned how to rock and sing to bands like System Of A Down, Faith No More, and Great Big Sea.
