Biography

I'm 20 years old, so I've still got a lot to learn about the world, but I'm trying to figure it out with my songs. Right now I'm mostly writing about soul searching, looking for meaning, but I also love to sing about relationships, love, loss - anything with a lot of emotion that I can pour my heart into singing. My musical style is heavily influenced by bluegrass and classic blues, because when you listen to the blues and bluegrass, you can just feel it in your gut, in your soul - and I hope listening to my music does that too.

That Old Wind

Written By: Cynthia McDermott

Well, that old wind
Was blowin cold tonight
As I faced up
To the sky
That starry sky

All at once
I realized
How much I don’t know
I was paralyzed
Ooh, and I cried

I wish I knew what I was livin for
Oh, I don’t know what I’m doin here at all
I always thought that I was the one in control
But I would settle for a remedy to cure my achin and weary soul

Tried to find God
But I doubt He’s there
Cuz I went lookin
But I got nowhere

Ain’t got no faith
That the Bible’s true
But that don’t mean I
Don’t believe in you
Cuz ooh, boy, I do

I wish I knew what I was livin for
Oh, I don’t know what I’m doin here at all
I always thought that I was the one in control
But I would settle for a remedy to cure my achin and weary soul
Yeah, I would settle for a remedy to cure my achin and weary soul

Are or Not

Written By: Cynthia McDermott

Do you think that I could stay?
There are answers to be found
That I can’t see from the ground
But I need to find my way

Sometimes things are hard to see
When you haven’t got much light
But I think maybe tonight
I’m getting close to what I need

Lately I
Have been to tired to try
But I’m ready now
If you’d show me how

A little truth might help a lot
And I know that’s no simple task
But if it’s not too much to ask
Show me if you are or not

Am I just a little dot?
One freckle on a giant face?
Am I in or out of place?
Let me know if you are or not

Lately I
Have been too tired to try
But I’m ready now
If you’d show me how

A little truth might help a lot
And I know that’s no simple task
But if it’s not too much to ask
Show me if you are or not

Too Far To Fall

Written By: Cynthia McDermott

Look straight through me
Don’t take the time to view me
You still don’t know what you want
But I know it’s not me

When I stand here, now
I can see everything clear now
Why don’t you be a dear, now
And leave me be

You can say
That you want me around, that you need me around
But I got too far to fall
Yeah, I still might come when you call
But I won’t stay

It’s not my style
Most times I don’t talk for a while
But I saw something in your smile
Thought we might be in tune

So I took chances
Agreed to all of your advances
You know, the thing with romance is
It’s over too soon

You should know
That you might want me around, might need me around
But I gotta go
And I hate to say no
But I can’t stay

You should know
That you might want me around, might need me around
But I gotta go
And I hate to say no
But I can’t stay

No, I can’t stay
No, I won’t stay
