Bio

She is an independent singer/songwriter, in addition to being a mother, wife, and professional outside of the music field. As a little girl she recognized that singing brought her attention but often more than she was comfortable with.

In 2003 she released her CD “Reflections.” She believed this demo would provide her contentment but husband knew that it was just a matter of time before her insatiable personality would see that vocally she had not scratched the surface.
Rooted in Gospel, it became obvious that her vocal diversity created a broader demand. A variety of requests launched her into her second recording. A creative process over two years, several miles, recorded in Tennessee and a self-titled debut CD released, July 2008.

Cynthia began singing at a very young age and, as a preacher's daughter, it was not unusual for her to find herself singing a sermonic solo, scheduled or impromptu. During her early teens, Cynthia sang with the youth choir at her late grandfather's church - Norton's Temple Church of God in Christ in Houston. Outside of her regular church commitment, she sang at many other churches in the Houston area and in other nearby Texas cities with family in a community type choir and a small group with her sister and cousin.

From a young teen, she has performed from California to Florida, inspiring many to ask, "Do you have anything recorded that I can have or buy?" Over the years, Cynthia chose to hide from that question and not face the calling on her life. Other than from the secular market, it seemed there was no one there to put the wind in her sails and she was afraid to sail on her own.

Over the years, Cynthia chose to satisfy the singing itch by participating with praise and worship teams in Houston and Beaumont. In 2004 and 2005, Cynthia opened each of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo shows with the National Anthem and has performed before persons such as President George H. W. Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush, Cynthia Woods-Mitchell, Zina Garrison-Jackson, and scores of mayors and dignitaries. She has opened for many events including the Houston Rockets, Houston Comets, Houston Astros, Houston Texans, the Chevy’s Freedom Over Texas Festival, and NASCAR in Dallas.

After deciding to take the reins and become an independent vocalist, the learning curve began. More each day, Cynthia finds herself where God wants her to be. While In Colorado, in 2005, she crossed paths with Jeff Nelson, a musician and producer from her past. A new partnership was formed and the chance meeting was a confirmation that her steps were ordered by God. After countless conversations, Cynthia and Jeff agreed to enter into the production of her first full length CD.

The writing and production process for Cynthia's self-titled debut record stretched between Franklin, Tennessee and Houston, Texas. The fruits are now available for all to taste. Meanwhile, Cynthia and her husband Russ determined that having their own production company would serve Cynthia better in the long run, so Cynsings Studios was formed and is responsible for the visual designs for her new CD.

Cynthia is not interested in having a political or religious agenda, but simply wants to sing what is in her heart so that the individuals that want/need to hear the message can do so. She has recently been picked up by Deet Promotions in New York who specialize in getting the music to a diverse, international audience.

Cynthia's desire is to give hope to those who lack it, plant seeds of Christ's love, soothe restless souls, and make you think about something beyond yourself...
