Cynthia Shelhart performs, teaches and publishes traditional & contemporary music for double-strung harp. Based near Chicago in northwest Indiana, her performances feature traditional music of Scotland & Ireland, instrumental classics, and her own compositions.

Pioneer of the double-strung harp since its appearance in the US in the early 90s, Cynthia Shelhart was ready to fall in love with the instrument, after studying pedal, historical, and lever harps in the 1980s. In 2005, Cindy released her first double-strung harp solo CD, Limberlost Angel; that same year, she also won the US National Scottish Harp Championship. A respected judge at Highland Games around the US, she also performs, teaches and is in national demand as a festival clinician. Her newest CD release is That Night in Bethlehem, a holiday collection for solo harp (2009).
