Kay "DaButtonPusha" Bey is an emcee and well rounded entertainer who hails from the music cornucopia that is Pittsburgh, PA. Its Da Button Pusha's love of hip hop that fans and musician alike relate to. At the heart of her passion and drive is a memory when she was 13 years old & had the chance to see KRS1 Live that it was then int that very moment Da Button Pusha knew it was her destiny to be a master of stage and verse.
From then on Buttons passion for music and her work ethic has led her to teach herself to deejay,make beats,throw events ,rap,host,perform – ( and eventually - photographing and video production).
Da Button Pusha is far from your average indie/underground artist. She begin public access TV with music based shows – (3) of them (for 7yrs) which showcased inspired young people and their hiphop talent. Da Button Pusha has lectured and performed in schools,hospitals and youth centers every chance she can get Buttonz uses hiphop to work with high risk youth. as an event promoter Buttonz also began and ran a live hiphop showcase series in Pittsburgh called “The HipHopBuffet Series” –It lasted for 4 years & included an All Female showcase -annually.
Da Button Pusha currently owns and operates WWW.JPBTV.COM an online underground hiphop tv network which produced a video show –called “Go Live Tv Hour" the Indie Artist Newscast and the Can I Get A 16 - video series. She also has a show - #WATCHJPBTV On PCTV Channel 21 Pittsburgh - weds nites Midnite and she currently host Bay Area Block Report, on air in Bay Area CA.
Da Button Pusha's goal is to build networks and support for not only the hip hop community but for the indie and emerging community as a whole. She also hopes to be able to apply her skills and support as much as she can to who need them and will utilize what she brings to the table.
