Since 2008, Dachshund has been making music which blends together the nervy syncopation of new-wave, the heady trickery of progressive-rock, the introspective jangle of college-rock, and the vitality of punk. The result is a sound which is both accessible and distinctive — melodic songs, evocative vocals, guitar riffs and leads, slippery rhythms, and an elusive shapeshifting quality. We make forward-leaning music out of old-school parts, a widescreen cinerama of rock influences.

…So yeah, we named our band after a silly-looking and stubborn breed of dog. We adopted our moniker in a humorous spirit, as a way of ribbing standard notions of “cool.” It fits our outlook as a band, it fits our sense of humor, and it fits our defiantly original music.

Our lineup includes Ryan Dannar (Guitar/Vocals), Eric Hartley (Guitar/Vocals), Matt Mayo (Bass Guitar), and Jason Booze (Drums). Dannar and Hartley also write the band’s all-original material.

We play frequently in our hometown of Tulsa, OK — but have also performed in Eureka Springs AR, Springfield MO, Dallas TX, and Saint Louis MO. It’s an honor to be anywhere we play!

We’ve independently released two albums, “The Ballad of Shorty Long,” (2011) and “Crooked House” (2016). Both are available on CDBaby, iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify.
