"Chief Executives"

If you have been paying attention to Street Magazine’s City Limits, you know there is no shortage of talented artists in the area. The underground is buzzing again this month with a collection of emcees that out to take the crown. Love is Life Entertainment CEO Kyna Ealey has found the perfect mixture, with hot tracks from Tree Gotti for Tree Dogg Productions and 8 of the hottest emcees to emerge on the Hip-Hop scene. If you’ve haven’t seen Da Committee perform live than you’re missing a show. The energy and charisma that they exude on stage can’t be practiced. JusBam caught up with Da Committee at Tree Dogg Productions Studio to find out what makes this family click and with so many artists being feature on the project I wanted to know what makes each member different. J. Dunja, one of two artists not originally from DC told me, "I feel like I bring that uncut dirty south style to the game, I am from Mississippi so I present the dirty south flavor that everyone is loving right now". Fatz, the cool, calm, playa of the click stepped in to say, "I bring the essence of rap, I’m versatile.” Da Committee consists of artist being represented by Love is Life Entertainment, an independent record label in the city. Zo Twinn, Smoke, Frank Nitty, Vito Terontino, Osage, and E-Mercy complete this powerhouse of talent. The heart of this whole operation is hit maker producer Tree Gotti whose track takes on many forms. There is no signature sound to his production so I asked him who are the producers that inspire his music. "I’m not an old dude I’m only 22 years old so I took inspiration from a lot of producers, I kinda have a lot of style mix into one….you never know where I am coming from." I also learned that Tree has been playing music for many years. His career began playing in his father’s band at the age of 7. Da Committee is definitely making noise on the underground scene performing live throughout the city. The self-titled debut album is set to release in April and Da Committee has already teamed up with Malik Pollard and produced a hot video for their latest single "Shorty Lookin Real Good". The video has already premiered on Mad Flavor TV and Bet’s Uncut. The album features the hit single "Da Anthem (Southside D.C.)" along with collaboration and solo performances from all the artists. Da Committee has what it takes to break out of D.C. I recommend you cop this one. - Streetz Magazine
