"DaddysGirls Industy Takeover RWD Mag Review"

Female trio Daddy’s Girls opened ears (and eyes) with an alluring performance. The all-singing, rapping girl group imbued Friday Night with melody and sass, as they painted a vivid picture of a ladies night out. The trio changed down a gear to let loose the emotion from Street Life, an R&B-style portrayal of the darkness of road life. - Rwd Mag

Still working on that hot first release.

Feeling a bit camera shy

Crazy, Sexy, Cool is back!

All female rap trio DaddysGirls are a refreshing new act breaking out from the UK music scene. Bringing back old school soulful sounds from the 90's, with astounding, passionate lyrical rhymes and vibes.

Hailing from the hills of North London, the group is made up of Mimi and twins Melinda and Melissa. The girls have been close friends for the past 9 years, having met at college and then moving onto the same university, where they studied a variety of courses between them.

It was at university where all the fun began. The trio thought about entering a talent show as a dance act. The twins were very well known for choreographing dance routines during their school years, but due to time constraints and a desire to express themselves through music the girls decided to rap instead. Although their music was well received on the stage, the girls were determined to complete their studies. They continued to participate in a few university talent shows, but unfortunately it wasn’t long before DaddysGirls stopped making music all together.

Three degrees and a few years later, DaddysGirls decided to reform and take the group more seriously. With a goal to eventually hit the mainstream market, the girls set out on a journey to complete their first promotional mixtape. With an organic sound influenced by an electric mix of Soul, Hip-Hop, Rap, RnB, Jungle, Drum n Bass and a range of artists such as 2Pac, Eminem, Fabolous, Foxy Brown, Fugees, Kano, Kanye West, Lil Kim, Michael Jackson, Mobb Deep, Naz, Notorious BIG, Outcast, Pharrell Williams and The Lox - DaddysGirls are definitely a cut above the rest, as they stand proud in their own league, currently the UK’s only all female sassy hip-hop/rap collective. Although male rappers dominate the hip-hop market, the girls didn’t feel they needed any gimmicks to grab attention. They hit the scene with not just outstanding talent, but with beauty, charisma and creative style.

“Unknowingly we have created a distinctive sound that combines all of our musical influences both past and present.” Melissa DG

“When making a DaddysGirls song we listen to the latest trends, find out what’s popular at the moment and then do something completely different.” Mimi DG

DaddysGirls have confidently made their mark with the release of their debut mixtape ‘Life Begins with Lyrics’. The mixtape is a breath of fresh air, deep and meaningful, completely unique compared to the sounds of today’s UK music scene. DaddysGirls are capturing the interests of many diverse music followers all over the world.

“It is very important to us, that we create music that we enjoy and also believe is real to who we are. We don’t want to conform to the commercial music scene. We just want to make good music that speaks for itself.” Melinda DG

So the DG journey has only just begun. The girls have already had interest to support and tour along side some on the biggest music names, along with plans to promote their music to the masses worldwide. “Ready, steady, set go…”
