Bio

Daddy Stone was born Leslie Mason on 7th. August, 1965. He is the fifth of seven children, who grew with his parents, eventually settling in Mon Repos, San Fernando.
His schooling took him from the Coffee E.C. Primary School while it was still co-ed, then to the San Fernando East Junior Secondary School and finally to the Pleasantville Senior Comprehensive.
Stonehead as he came to be known among his peers, displayed average levels of dexterity on both the basketball court and the small goal field during his early teens. Never for a moment did he suspect that his life’s path would lead to music and such heavy and steadfast devotion within the Rastafarian way of life.
After hearing the teachings of Rastafari for sometime during his teens, Stone decided that he would become steadfast to the teachings, and began to groom his dread locks from the age of sixteen. Two years later, his interest in music and performing would reveal itself, and his dedication to the art form in its entirety, would become as great as his dedication to his way of life. He has works in soca, reggae and dancehall.
Initially, his adeptness at music was not great, but his willingness and dedication paid off, and his career began to grow. Daddy Stone joined the Copyright Organization of T & T (COTT) and only began recording in 2002. He has had air play for songs like ‘Licks’ & ‘Animal’. Recently, he hit the airwaves again in collaboration with brilliant Rasta brethren Jah Lightning performing ‘Only JAH Love’. Together, they have been making inroads within both their careers, culminating recently in them being the opening act for Jamaican artiste Chuck Fenda & Richie Spice, as well as international conscious Empress Queen Omega.
Stone has performed all over Trinidad and even in Tobago, alongside our own Prophet Benjamin (his close friend), Isasha, Marlon Asha, Sparkleton, Kunta & Smooth T, to name a few. He has even performed on the same stage with Everton Blender, Darway Congo & Ikah Mouse.
Stone has recorded in studios like KMPC, JJ Music Prods., Audio House & Wesley Rajack Sounds, under producers like Kenny Phillips, Junior ‘Ibo’ Joseph, Ralph Radix & Wesley Rajack.
He has been interviewed on radio stations like 90.1FM & 98.9FM, as well as on Gayelle TV. DJ’s like Dr. Hyde, Black Chariot, Jah Kingdom, Jah Tower, Public International, Supreme Team & Quick Star have requested and received ‘dub plates’ from Stone.
Stone is presently a Manager / Member of Status QO Productions Co. Ltd.
