I laced y’all with game when Da Dreak dropped his “Before I Do It Big” mixtape. Da Dreak follows that effort up with an ever better mixtape called “I’m Greedy”. Dreak is a very talented rapper & producer and he shoulders the production load on most of his projects. He’s also produced tracks for artist such as Spark Dawg, Da Rhino and Charlie Boy.
Teaming up with Da Hitman of Mixtape Syndicate again for I’m Greedy, Da Dreak hit you over the head with a 13 track mix. Though he opted to use “mixtape” tracks on “I’m Greedy” this is all Dreak. Trust me on this one “I’m Greedy” is a straight banger beginning to end! My favorite track was “Triple D” ft. the homie SHO. Other notable tracks like “That’s Grove”, “Dope Boi”, and “Hit Da Blocc Runnin” are sure to keep your head bobbing. Da Dreak even drops a few R&B’esque vocals on “Make a Mili”. Overall this is another solid mix from da Dreak who continues to get better on each project and he’s quickly becoming one of the more talented producer in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. There are very few words to describe this Sound Criminal. Known to the world as Da Dreak, this artist is defiantly a force to be reckoning with.
Growing up in the Dallas subured, Pleasant Grove (Greedy Gove), Da Dreak quickly learned the basics of poverty. What came out of it at the age of 13, he quickly learned that music was his escape from this harsh reality, and began practicing to master the ...mic. Tragedy struck close to home with the death of his older brother Curtis in July 2003. Curtis was the artist and inspired Da Dreak to do graphics. In the prior year Da Dreak, Curtis, and younger brother Doc S. were in the making of starting their own company Hard Reign Entertainment. The incident with his brother Curtis passing, lit a fire under Da Dreaks feet and created an understanding that to become the best he also needed to tune into as many skills in this industry that he could, and he developed a thirst for production as well.
Although Da Dreak is from the south, his sound is a mixture of diversity, from the production, to his lyrical style; his harmonizing of melodies evokes emotions that will challenge any artist in the game to step it up. Da Dreak is always up for the challenge.
Completing projects, Scremix Vol.1, & Vol. 2, which was showcased in the Observer in 2007, and Quick DFW. Before I Do It Big, dropping in 2009, was mixed by Da Hit Man with 2500 downloads in the first week. Then He dropped Im Greedy in 2010 with 3200 downloads in the first week, and was also featured on Coast to Coast mix tapes, Dattpiff, and several other blogs. Da Dreak won best new artist in 2004 for ConRadio Internet awards show. He has also opened shows for artists such as Mack 10, and Kid Frost.
Da Dreak has done production for artist Charlie Boy, Big K.R.I.T., Cassidy, Spark Dawg, Bavu Blakes, Money Waters, DJ Princess Cut and Dolla Quick just to name a few. As of date currently produces beats for Valley of The Kings Studio.
