Daechelle

BandPop

Daechelle, a young powerful voice her generation will listen to for years to come. Her song, Fearless, placed 1st in the POP category for 2006 Billboard Songwriting Contest, won the Peoples Voice Award for the 2006 International Songwriting Competition and can be heard in the motion picture BRATZ.

Biography

Daechelle was “born to be a star” on February 7, 1995 in San Diego, California. At the early age of 3, this honor student started her career in front of the camera. She worked in print and ramp modeling with Wal-Mart, Parent Magazine, National University, Cotton Kids and Disguise Magazine featured in fashion shows, cataloges and halloween costume packages.

Daechelle showed her most prominent talent at many family karaoke functions. She never hesitated to entertain her family and friends with her mature and soulful voice. She was destined for stardom from the very beginning.

At the ripe young age of seven, she entered many competitions and talent showcases taking home trophies, prizes and local recognition. Her burning desire to compete stirred up her interests in other contests, including an international beauty pageant.

Being crowned “Little Miss Philippines Universe 2005” at the Los Angeles Convention Center is what launched her singing career. With her jaw dropping acapella performance of Kelly Clarkson’s “A Moment Like This” and her ability to confidently answer questions in regards to community services, being a role model and future goals, she undoubtedly swept all categories in the competition and came home winning the title including “Most Photogenic, Best in Gown and Most Friendly.”

Since then she has been asked to “open” for several international celebrities, perform as a “special guest” at many community events and to sing the National Anthem at countless college graduations. Her exposure on stage as well as in local publications created quite a buzz around town and was slowly building her growing fan base.

Her TV debut on the USA World Showcase was filmed at the MGM Grand Studios in Las Vegas, Nevada. Taking home the trophy for “1st Place Most Promising Child Singer” she received over 6.5 million votes on PAX television. This would be the first of several major music awards for the 10 year old. She was recognized in the competition for her powerful voice, her ability to sing acapella and leaving her audience in tears.

Daechelle’s professional singing career began 2005 when she was introduced to Peter Roberts- the producer that started it all! Peter discovered Daechelle a few days after her 11th birthday, when her Los Angeles vocal coach decided it was time to show her off. After recording their third song together entitled, Fearless, Peter introduced Daechelle to her soon-to-be manager, Dennis Rodriguez, who worked with Celine Dion in Las Vegas. In September 2005, Peter received a call requesting an appearance from Daechelle in Boston, Massachusetts. The request was for the song “Fearless” to be performed for the first time for an all girls school called Esperanza Academy.

“Fearless” was dedicated to the young students at the Esperanza Academy- School of Hope. Her performance at the fundraising benefit to support this private school for economically disadvantaged girls in the 5th through 8th grades, received a standing ovation. The mission statement for Esperanza captures the school’s hope for all of its girls: to provide quality education, welcoming girls of diverse faiths, races and cultures and to challenge each student to realize her full potential. Daechelle has remained friends with the Esperanza Girls and is a constant reminder to all of them that dreams do come true!

Little did “Team Daechelle” know that “Fearless” was the song that was going to take her career to the next level. The combination of this upbeat girl power anthem with an inspirational message was the direction Daechelle wanted to focus her career on. Her mission to change the world with her voice started coming true!

Daechelle made several appearances on morning shows and was interviewed live on several radio shows throughout San Diego, Riverside and Los Angeles county, making her a local superstar. She was labeled as “San Diego’s Singing Sensation,” “Valley Center’s Songbird” and the “Fearless Vocalist.”

In 2006, a year after she met her producer, Daechelle was best known for her two time award winning song “Fearless.” Billboard Music placed it 1st in the Pop category after critiquing over 18,000 song entries world-wide. Additionally, the International Songwriting Competition awarded it 1st place in the “People’s Voice Award.”

But it was in 2007, that “Fearless” was finally released world-wide. Selected once again out of 4,000 song entries as the winner of Geffen Records’ “Bratz” contest, the song was featured in a climatic scene in the Lionsgate movie and is the main track on the official movie soundtrack. At a promotional campaign meeting on July 13, 2007, Daechelle met Ron Fair, President of Geffen Records, where he put her on the spot and had her sing Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” in front of a room full of music executives. She blew them away and was immediately signed to the major label that same day and was set to film her first music vide

Lyrics

Fearless

Written By: Ron Boustead

Break it down, let it all out
I’ll give you my opinion
Walkin’ round, runnin’ my mouth
Cause I’m not about pretendin’
I talk tough, callin’ your bluff
Don’t tell me what I can’t do
Don’t ask me to ignore
What in my heart I know is true

I never wanna be predictable
I’m never gonna take the easy road
I never wanna follow where the
Ordinary ones have gone before
And that’s why every day
I say it to my self

Be fearless, and nothing is impossible
So fearless, and know that you’re invincible
Be fearless, prove the undeniable
Cause you’re so much stronger than you know
So let it show

It’s crazy, never been done
It’s revolutionary
Can’t faze me, I won’t run
Nothin’ you can say to scare me
Bring on fame, I got game
See, I was born for this part
Just have to start by
Following the voice inside my heart

I never wanna be predictable
I’m never gonna take the easy road
I never wanna follow where the
Ordinary ones have gone before
And that’s why every day
I say it to my self

Be fearless, and nothing is impossible
So fearless, and know that you’re invincible
Be fearless, prove the undeniable
Cause you’re so much stronger than you know
Just let it show

Stand your ground, be confident
The strength inside is heaven-sent
Remember saints and heroes gone before Remember saints and heroes gone before- ahhhh
Be bold and be uncompromised
Starin’ in your demons’ eyes
Believe you can soar

Repeat Chrous 2x

Goin' There

Written By: Jonathan Thompson

Every time I close my eyes
I see your face smiling back at me
It’s plain to see
We have a bond no one can break
I know your friends are doing things
Some things I’m definitely not ready for
I was always told
They’ll be some choices I must make (choices I must make)

I know, I know, I know we’re getting older
But that don’t make a difference
Just cause you want to think that it is alright
Don’t make it right for me

When I am with you
You know I want to
Give you my all
But I ain’t goin’ there (goin’ there)
You’re something special
But still, we got to
Take our sweet time
Wait for the right time
Nothing I wouldn’t do
You know I want to
Give you my all
But we ain’t goin’ there (goin’ there)
You know you’re my boo
But boy, we’ve got to
Slow our roll, don’t loose control
And take our time

See now and then I feel like we
We must be made for each other
It's hard to tell what is
And what is not okay

I know, I know, I know we’re getting older
But that don’t make a difference
Just cause you want to think that it is alright
Don’t make it right for me

When I am with you
You know I want to
Give you my all
But I ain’t goin’ there (goin’ there)
You’re something special
But still, we got to
Take our sweet time
Wait for the right time
Nothing I wouldn’t do
You know I want to
Give you my all
But we ain’t goin’ there (goin’ there)
You know you’re my boo
But boy, we’ve got to
Slow our roll, don’t loose control
And take our time

I love the way you make my heart beat
The way you laugh with me is so sweet
And I don't want that vibe to go away
I can't imagine you would change or treat me different
Just ‘cause you feel like you're missing
Out on things and I wont change my way

When I am with you
You know I want to
Give you my all
But I ain’t goin’ there (goin’ there)
You’re something special
But still, we got to
Take our sweet time
Wait for the right time
Nothing I wouldn’t do
You know I want to
Give you my all
But we ain’t goin’ there (goin’ there)
You know you’re my boo
But boy, we’ve got to
Slow our roll, don’t loose control
And take our time

Rocket Ship

Written By: Ron Boustead

I’m gonna build me a rocket ship
Out in the corner of my back yard
And when the time is right, on a summer night
I’m gonna blast away to the stars

Light the fuse and off I go
Dump all my blues into the ocean
Won’t be no telephone, won’t be no radio
No more trailer trash TV

Ooh, ooh, ooh
This world is going insane (going insane)
Ooh, ooh, ooh
I gotta take off, it’ll never change

Gonna build me a rocket ship
And leave this troubled world behind me
Fly away on my rocket ship
So far away they’ll never find me
Out beyond Pluto and Mars
I’ll set a course for the stars
Can’t afford to wait for another day
Gonna build me a rocket ship

I’ll find a groovy boy for my rocket ship
In a galaxy far away from here
I’ll be his spaced-out girl, he’s gonna rock my world
We’ll be in love above the stratosphere

I’ll hang curtains in my rocket ship
Play my guitar and burn some incense
It takes a few small amps to light my lava lamp
All the illumination we’ll need

Ooh, ooh, ooh
This world is going insane (going insane)
Ooh, ooh, ooh
I gotta take off, it’ll never change

Gonna build me a rocket ship
And leave this troubled world behind me
Fly away on my rocket ship
So far away they’ll never find me
Out beyond Pluto and Mars
I’ll set a course for the stars
Can’t afford to wait for another day
Gonna build me a rocket ship

(Can you hear me, hear me)
Takin’ off for the great unknown
Hear the after burners start to roar
(Do you see me, see me)
Make a trail trough the summer sky
Can you read my smoke
I’m goin’ exploring

Gonna build me a rocket ship
And leave this troubled world behind me
Fly away on my rocket ship
So far away they’ll never find me
Out beyond Pluto and Mars
I’ll set a course for the stars
Can’t afford to wait for another day
Gonna build me a rocket ship

All Natural

Written By: Michael Jay

Something that I know
Try to keep down low
Heart got a mind of its own right now
I’ve got a secret
You’re gonna see it
No way to keep it, it’s bound to come out
It’s not what you might think
Going on instinct
Keepin’ it real just like I always do
Walkin’ you through it
Ain’t nothin’ to it
I’m gonna prove it so you know it’s true

A light in the dark
That’s how it starts
It’s comin’ straight from the heart

Nothing complicated or calculated
Nothing that’s fake or fabricated
Gonna stay the way I was made to be
All natural, all natural
Nothing synthesized, nothing super-sized
Not a single thing has been compromised
Gonna stay the way I was made to be
All natural, all natural

No, I’m not perfect
But you know I’m worth it
I’m down to earth and it feels so right
The way that I treat ya
You won’t need a sweetener
I’m gonna keep you on a sugar high
Laughin’ for hours
Wild as a flower
Don’t need the powers of Superman
Total organic
You’ll understand it
How nature planned it is the way I am

As free as the wind
That’s how it begins
It comes from within

Nothing complicated or calculated
Nothing that’s fake or fabricated
Gonna stay the way I was made to be
All natural, all natural
Nothing synthesized, nothing super-sized
Not a single thing has been compromised
Gonna stay the way I was made to be
All natural, all natural

What you see is what I got
What you think is what it’s not
Ain’t no game I’m playin’
I’m not masqueradin’
Ain’t no twist to this plot

Nothing complicated or calculated
Nothing that’s fake or fabricated
Gonna stay the way I was made to be
All natural, all natural
Nothing synthesized, nothing super-sized
Not a single thing has been compromised
Gonna stay the way I was made to be
All natural, all natural

Not manipulated or simulated
Nothing ‘bout me can be imitated
Gonna stay the way I was made to be
All natural, all natural
Nothing synthesized, nothing super-sized
Not a single thing has been compromised
Gonna stay the way I was made to be
All natural, all natural

Blush

Written By: Ina Wolf

You are so amazin’
You’re the cutest boy I know
No, honestly
All my girlfriends dream of dating you
But it’s me you look at
Makes me feel like I am special
I can’t believe I’m the one you see
I’m the one you’re smiling at

And then my knees start shakin’
I could die

You’re makin’ me blush
You’re makin’ me sweat
And when you come close I play hard to get, why
You make me blush
You’re shakin’ me up
If only I knew how to make it stop

You’re makin’ me blush
You’re makin’ me mute
My face (heart) is on fire coz you are so cute, boy
You make me blush
I just wanna hide
I blush coz I got a bad crush on you

Do you see my problem?
Tell me why can’t you be boring
Or colorblind
(Then I ) wouldn’t have to run away from you
You’re my best kept secret
And the only one I dream of
And here I go! Heat from head to toe
You are waiting by the door

And then my knees start shakin’
I could die

You’re makin’ me blush
You’re makin’ me sweat
And when you come close I play hard to get, why
You make me blush
You’re shakin’ me up
If only I knew how to make it stop

You’re makin’ me blush
You’re makin’ me mute
My face (heart) is on fire coz you are so cute, boy
You make me blush
I just wanna hide
I blush coz I got a bad crush on you

When I’m alone my head starts spinning
And no one in the world knows I’m dreaming
I’m dreaming about you

Maybe tomorrow I can do it
Maybe tomorrow I’ll go through with it
I’ll hold my breath and walk up to you
And tell you what you do to me

You’re makin’ me blush
You’re makin’ me sweat
And when you come close I play hard to get, why
You make me blush
You’re shakin’ me up
If only I knew how to make it stop

You’re makin’ me blush
You’re makin’ me mute
My face (heart) is on fire coz you are so cute, boy
You make me blush
I just wanna hide
I blush coz I got a bad crush on you

Text Messages

Written By: Jonathan Thompson & Peter Roberts

I got your text the other day
It started out with another name
And TBY (thinkin’ ‘bout you)
Everything you told me was fake
You slipped and made a big mistake
And now that I found out (what am I to do)

I totally knew something was wrong
And don’t try to blame it on your phone
I maybe young but
Don’t you play me for no fool

I got the text messages from you
But they weren't meant for me
And don’t tell me you was just playin’
Coz we’re not in P.E.
I can see through all your fast talk
So don't even start
I'm not recess boy
So don’t play with my heart

I don't know who you think you are
You’re acting like you’re some superstar
You think I'm a groupie? (you gotta be kiddin’ me)
I don’t wanna talk, don’t wanna fight
What's done in darkness comes to light
And I was blinded (but now I can see)

I heard you were playing these games before
But up until now I wasn’t sure
I maybe young but
Don’t you play me for no fool

I got the text messages from you
But they weren't meant for me
And don’t tell me you was just playin’
Coz this ain’t P.E.
I can see through all your fast talk
So don't even start
I'm not recess boy
So don’t play with my heart

Rap:
Yeah, you really funny, tried to play me like a dummy
But you not slick now its time to quit
See, I read the text message so who you tryin’ a mess with
I’m so over the games you try to pull, don’t try to explain it
Go head and save it ‘cause I’m not your fool
All that beggin’ and pledging wont help
You such a player you ended you playin’ yourself

I got the text messages from you
But they weren't meant for me
And don’t tell me you was just playin’
Coz this ain’t P.E.
I can see through all your fast talk
So don't even start
I'm not recess boy
So don’t play with my heart
