"Dagnese at Anti Pop 5"

Dagnese thrilled a packed house with their pop/rock acoustic set at Tanqueray’s on opening night of the fifth annual Anti Pop Festival. Chris D’Agnese’s warm, rich vocals sounded as good as ever as the three piece band played with a fervor usually only found with a full band.

Brothers Chris and Craig D’Agnese were joined by newest member Alex Assoian as they played many of the bands most popular songs. They started off their 45 minute set with “All Your Tears” and “Desperate Feelings” from their latest EP release Hard To Find. Chris mentioned, in his thick Massachusetts accent, that the band is still looking for a drummer.

As the set continued with “3 Shades of Sorry” and “Forever With Me,” Assoian gave up trying to stay perched on his stool and surrendered himself to the music.

Many more crowd favorite songs were played throughout the set including “Hard To Find,” and “Rock It On.” The rest of the band left Chris alone onstage for “I Am,” returning for the song's big finish.

They closed out their set with “Come Over After,” The video premier for that song will be held at Lyrica on January 16, a new live music venue in downtown.

Dagnese followed. The confines of an acoustic set hardly hampered them as the three-piece band played a high-energy set of pop/rock crowd favorites. Lead vocalist Chris D’Agnese was very animated between songs telling the stories behind them, about their search for a drummer, and talking about the upcoming premier of the video for “Come Over After.” - www.performermag.com
