Dakesis are a five piece Progressive-Power Metal band based in Birmingham, UK.
Mixing European symphonic and power metal influences with homegrown classic rock and NWOBHM, a heavy dose of tongue-in-cheek cheese and a fair dash of modern Prog, Dakesis have carved a unique niche in the UK live music scene with their fresh and modern take on a classic sound.
Formed by front-man Wayne in 2009, the band quickly established themselvesas a formidable live act with a relentless gigging schedule and a rapidly expanding fanbase along with support slots with Thunderstone, Al Atkins "Holy Rage", Blaze Bayley, Enochian Theory and festival slots at Meltdown, Twitrfest, JB's Rock and metalfest, Glastonbudget, Sonic Rock Solstice and Kiddermonsters of Rock and Metal.
Their debut release - a self titled four track demo - sold outwithin a monthin early 2010 and earned the band many accolades andglowing reviews.
After a year of constant gigging and new material,the band are now in the studio recording their full debut album "Trial by Fire" which is expected to be ready for release in early 2011.
