Bio

Picture a musical landscape littered with artists within a plethora of styles. An over bloated industry with cookie-cutter, assembly line production and a dumbing down of lyrical content. That’s where we live today. There’s one man who has separated himself from this hum-drum musical world. His name is Dale Baker. Dale’s life as an artist started when he was four years old. He played the character of Little Leo Lenskivich, on the popular 80’s sitcom, My Favorite Communist. It ran on ABC for four seasons. Flash forward to 2007, when he released his debut album, World Anti-Famous with much fan fair. 10,000 album sales later and the critically acclaimed album is a must have for any music lover. Now Dale has just finished his second album, The Canary in the Coal Mine which will release on the LongRange/E1 label in the fall of 2010. Its one of the most anticipated indie hip-hop albums of the fall. Videos include Cut You Down which has been given rotation on MTVu & Video OnDemand. Dale has performed thousands of shows in the past decade. Touring the United States and Europe with his live band, featuring DJ Country Fresh on the turntables. He has toured and performed with the likes of Atmosphere, Brother Ali, 2Mex, Pigeon John, Copywrite, Vast Aire, The Pharcyde, One Be Lo, Guilty Simpson, Mars Ill, Playdough, Three Six Mafia, Krs One, RedCloud, P.O.D., Norma Jean, and many others. He has recorded with the likes of Proof (D12), Bizarre (D12), Braille, LMNO, Awol One, Mars Ill, Playdough, Listener, Sev Statik, and many others. Dale has been on countless mix tapes and compilations. Along with his never-ending schedule he also works with BoomBox Entertainment, promoting concerts and artists. Dale also is the on-air host of The Detour Radio Show, which broadcasts the third Saturday of every month from 9pm-midnight on 560 AM in Detroit. He also writes for several magazines and fights crime. Dale Baker’s work is never done.
