Dale Riley & The Last Train South Band

Dale Riley was born in Dallas, TX. Dale started playing music at the age of eight years old with the family band. Brother Billy Riley Jr. (Bass Player) also started playing in the family band at a young age of 10. Dale and Billy Jr. grew up in Copeville, TX. Both the boys played for there father Billy Riley Sr., who was owner of the Southern Express Band. Growing up in the industry the boys learned to grind there teeth on the bar scenes. Billy Sr. retired from the industry in 1995 after 20 years. After their fathers retirement Billy Jr. to move on to pursue a career in the communications industry. Dale went on to travel the country in the big rigs. Knowing in the back of their minds up on stage and in front of crowds is where they belonged. After playing in some bands and getting disgusted with the way things were going Dale decided to venture out on his own project. In 2004 Dale Riley and nephew Kevin Arterberry started up a band. Coming up for a name for this band was really simple. Seeing the big picture of having two sons and a grandson carry on the family tradition of the Southern Express Band. They were in this together. Thus, Last Train South Band was born. . Hank Williams Jr., George Jones, and many the Greats molded Dale to pour out his heart and sing great country music. Things took off with a great bang, but there was still something missing. After confiding with Eva Conley (manager) Dale walked away with a whole new perspective on music. Knowing that he loved country music and the feel of rock and roll he soon figured out how to make both genres work for him. You can experience that in songs that he writes as well as the cover songs that he performs on stage. In 2004 the release of his first CD “Back on Track” was released. In 2006 they went in the studio for the CD called “This Town” . 2008 brings us to the latest CD “Memories” that will be released in the Summer of 2008. The Dale Riley& The Last Train South Band is combination of southern , traditional and Texas country . We are a very high energy and entertaining group. Each member of this band brings something that is unique and personable to the crowd. The band is very serious about the music and keeps the expectations of the performers at a very high level. We also carry ourselves in a professional manner while still having fun and entertaining the crowd. Dale Riley, Dale has been playing music and performing professionally sense an early age.
