"Dali's Watch Breakfast Serial"

This band has a bit of a grunge sound to them along with some rock and it is quite an ass kickin combo. The songs are catchy and heavy and never bored me. The singer has that kind of voice that sucked me in and his vocals just ruled. This is sort of an Alice In Chains band mixed in with some rock n roll. The production is flawless and this is a nice break from all the generic black and death metal in the scene these days. - Metalcorefanzine

"Dali's Watch Breakfast Serial"

Out of Maryland, USA comes Dali’s Watch, a band playing a mixture of alternative, progressive and experimental rock/hardrock. They are a three piece band, formed in 2012 and consisting of Mic Wynne - vocals/guitars/keys; Michael Galway - bass guitars; and Gary Venable – drums. Breakfast serial is their debut record, which is a very interesting album that contains influences of Rush, Queens Of The Stone Age and Porcupine Tree. Especially during the instrumental passages (such as during Pandemic), they remind quite a lot of Porcupine Tree. Highlights are definitely Without a Whisper (great prog/stoner rock) and Breakfast Serial (close to Rush), but from start to finish, this band shows it’s professional skills and there’s not a single weak moment to be found here, so without a doubt, they are a highly recommended band. The album closes by the way with a nice cover of Duran Duran's Ordinary World. All together, do not miss this band and for more info go to: http://www.daliswatch.com - Strutterzine

"Dali's Watch Breakfast Serial"

Dali's Watch are taking great risks with a truly unique sound, in an era when much of the modern music sounds the same. Their 2014 release of the full-length album, "Breakfast Serial" is an eclectic mix of heavy rock that meanders between progressive, alternative, and grunge with complex, yet approachable timing changes, haunting and beautiful melodies, and dynamics that go from subtle acoustic passages to in your face, pounding rhythms. The band consists of three very experienced and talented musicians, who have written masterful songs that are memorable, with meaningful lyrics, catchy choruses, and certainly several commercially marketable songs in 'Without a Whisper,' 'Ghosts of the Past' and 'Ray of Light.' The heavy, grungy song 'Blissful Ignorance' rocketed to number one in the rock charts on numberonemusic, within days of release, and media reviews are reviewing the release with near perfect scores. In a nutshell Dali's Watch is unique; the music isn't much like anyone else, and it keeps you coming back to listen again and again. - MusicEyeReviews

"Dali's Watch Breakfast Serial"

“Maryland trio Dalis Watch don't watch out for anyone with their approach. The approach in this case being aggressive, grinding grunge rock with an added dose of modern day rock dirge dropped into the holes. Strongly nurtured numbers such as 'Blissful Ignorance', 'Without a Whisper', 'Little Man Angry', 'Moonlight Weeps', 'Ray Of Light', 'Price Of Freedom' and 'Ghosts Of The Past' plus a titanium take on Duran Duran fave 'Ordinary World' tackle all the favourable alternative rock moves of the last two decades and get it in the net to applause here. Ripe guitars and gravelly vocals from leader Mic Wynne are there to nod heads at the huge Seattle names with a wink while working on how they will do the damage with their own inventive weapons. Stand back, because I'm sure I just heard a window being broken... 8/10 RECOMMENDED IF YOU LIKE: Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Bush & Porcupine Tree.” - Metalville

"Dali's Watch Breakfast Serial"

“The band is best described as adverse if not eclectic mix of grungy hard rock, with touches of classic 70s sounds, progressive, and alternative. The debut album is an epic journey through timing and dynamic shifts, seamlessly woven together in a fine fabric with haunting melodies, multilayered harmonies, and a pounding rhythm section. The music weaves a story of a mind plagued by the images of crime, death and despair on every morning news broadcast; the media obsession with the macabre. The album is sure to be a hit with anyone who appreciates heavy rock with beautifully crafted songs and lyrics that have meaning. It is music that breaks free from the norm, and the masses to forge new territory in a sound and style all of its own.” “...heavy rock band with complex timings and a grungy heavy feel. Their style is hard to pin down but is best described as alternative/progressive/experimental/grungy hard rock. The music is hard hitting at times, yet beautiful and dynamic, with acoustics, cellos, and orchestra colliding with distorted guitars. While their music is very complex in time signatures and changes, it is brilliantly written and executed such that the average listener hardly notices. Like Rush, this is a significant accomplishment. The songs are catchy and get stuck in your head, and appeal to a broad audience from rhythm and blues to metal heads. The lyrics are often social commentary, or deeper emotional journeys, allowing multiple interpretations and a deep connection with the listener. Their debut album centers around the media obsession with the macabre, where news broadcast is a plethora of death and tragedy.” - Maryland Music Magazine - Print Magazine

"Dali's Watch Breakfast Serial"

“..."Pandemic" is an instrumental that starts with sombering acoustic guitars, sound effects, and narration, then pulls you into something in the vein of progressive rock, sometimes slightly fusion. "Blissful Ignorance" rocks out with great riffs and vocals, having some resemblances to the sound of the band Tool. "Without a Whisper" is a musically psychedelic ballad with commercial potential and the band continues this with songs such as "Ray of Light" and "Bleak". On the song "Ghosts of the Past" the band introduces piano and more prominant synthwork. The chorus is memorable and the song has a notable breakdown towards the end. Dali's Watch finish off the album with a rendition of Duran Duran's "Ordinary World". All in all I found this debut album to be something a bit different, quirky, original, and interesting.” - Maryland Music Magazine - Print Magazine

"Dali's Watch Breakfast Serial"

“…So it’s a fusion of prog, grunge and post rock, which when it works is rather good. Chuck in a good riff as they do on ‘Blissful Ignorance’ and all is well. They can even give good ballad on ‘Without a Whisper’ and throw in some synth bleeps on ‘Ghosts Of The Past’ but there are always enough time changes for the more ardent prog head. They’ve all got plenty of experience in the studio and it shows as there is nary a bum note to be heard. It’s one for the art rockers out there, and nothing sums up their sound and influences better than the closing cover of Duran Duran’s ‘Ordinary World’. An interesting listen.” - The Rocker UK

Bio

Dali's Watch is a Rockville Maryland based heavy rock band with complex timings and a grungy heavy feel.  Their style is hard to pin down but is best described as alternative/progressive/experimental/grungy hard rock.  The music is hard hitting at times, yet beautiful and dynamic, with acoustics, cellos, and orchestra colliding with distorted guitars.  While their music is very complex at times in time signatures and changes, it is brilliantly written and executed such that the average listener hardly notices. Their debut album centers around the media obsession with the macabre; where every morning news broadcast is a plethora of sensationalized death and tragedy.

The band was formed in 2012 with Mic Wynne (guitars/keys/vocals), Mike Galway (bass), and Gary Venable (percussion).  All of the members are seasoned musicians with many bands, projects, sessions, CDs and tours under their belts.  Each has played in a diverse set of styles, including rock, fusion, jazz, country, blues, and classical.  All of the members are also formally trained musicians with decades of experience with their instruments.

For their debut release, Mic Wynne wrote the lyrics and guitars for eleven songs, and the band then worked to refine his arrangements, and added bass and drums.  The drums were recorded in 2013 at Drew Mazurek's studio, and then guitars, bass and vocals were recorded in 2013/2014 at Dogland Studios.  Mic then added the finishing production elements at Dogland, with draft mixes, and Drew Mazurek provided the final mix and mastering.  Their debut album, "Breakfast Serial," was released by Ravenhurst Records in December 2014.  There have been rave reviews in multiple print and on line magazines, and radio play on more than two dozen outlets.  To see all the reviews and radio coverage go to http://www.daliswatch.com/press-media
