Bio

Dallas Budd began his musical career in Saskatoon at age 11, playing bass in a rock band with his father and brother. He acquired his first recording studio experience by the age of 12. Soon after, the band was joined by 16 year old Shaun Verreault, later of Wide Mouth Mason. As the years went by, Budd absorbed and learned from the constant exposure to many different genres of music, seamlessly blending styles that would become his trademark in the years to come.

In Victoria, BC, Budd founded the high energy rock band "Naked Ear". In 2000 they were winners of local "Rocktoria" and "Battle of the Bands" contests and soon released their self-titled CD to rave reviews, giving rise to the opportunity to appear with such well-known artists as "Parliament-Funkadelic," "K-OS" and "Spirit of the West."

Budd's debut solo album "Divergency", written, recorded and produced by Budd, was four years in the making. This comes as no surprise considering how meticulously crafted each song is, blending such genres as alt-rock, R&B, funk, Latin, jazz and more. A multi-instrumentalist, Budd plays the guitar, keyboards, bass, didgeridoo and several other instruments, often incorporating these into the musical landscape that are his songs.

However, when all is said and done, Dallas Budd is not just a one man show; his new five piece band is born of hard work and originality. The fact that they can reproduce the music from this elaborate album on stage is a tribute to the abilities of these musicians, and makes this a group not to be missed!
