Biography

John, Matt, and Brahim were three childhood friends with a burning desire to use their gifts to serve Christ. So in 1999 they formed the Christian Rap Group “Wisdom from Above.” All growing up in the same drug infested, violent neighborhood of West Philadelphia the decision to form the group came from a yearning to see a change in their personal lives as well as a change in the lives of their peers and surroundings. So they made a pact that from that point forward they were seriously committing themselves to the path that God was laying before them.
In 2005, the group decided to change their name to “Da Lost and Found.” They felt that it better represented their testimony and their mission. LAF, as they are affectionately nicked-named by their young fans, love to minister to young people, especially those youth that are considered “Lost”. Once considered “lost” themselves, they understand the need to bring more children and teens to Christ. The three members of Lost and Found bring energy, fun and laughter to ministry that opens the door to allow them to teach the Word of God to a generation that is conditioned to believe that Christian Rap is “corny”. LAF breaks this stereotype as they usher in a new generation of young, anointed ministers that use rap as their pulpit. With Catchy and Innovative lyrics and hooks these talented youth have been on a mission to take God’s Word to His people and compel them to come. Taking on the names Johnnie Rock, Doc Hero, and Mayne Event “Lost and Found” is embarking on a Journey towards one common goal…”to bring Kingdom Awareness to a dying Generation.”
