Biography

The Dalton brothers began playing at local rock shows in their small Texas town of New Braunfels as young teens. Armed with their sheer determination and driven by a burning desire to create music, the brothers spent the next few years learning to “make music”, solidifying their talents and honing their songwriting skills.

Their first CD effort, “Taste the Sky” was released to rave reviews in May of 2006. Packed with radio-friendly-rock and can’t-get-it-out-of-my-head melodies, with the infectious hook-laden singles, “Taste the Sky”, “City Lights” and “Life Afraid”.

Among the rave reviews of Taste the Sky (2006), "rare to find this much talent brimming from such a young band", “infectious hooks, hypnotic rhythms, and soaring vocals”, “anthemic upbeat songs and atmospheric acoustic ballads keep you coming back”. “These guys are a nice combination of musical chops and strong songwriting”.

Lyrics

Taste the Sky

Written By: Preston & Spencer Dalton

Taste the sky
Verse:

Love is like a life where all,
of our dreams are beginning,
Life without your love is time,
that’s already faded.

Chorus:

You and I’ve become the reason I’m alive, The light we’ve made we taste the sky.

Verse:

Take a chance and you will find, Everything isn’t mystery,
Don’t lose sight, just take my hand look in my eyes

Colder Days

Colder Days written by : Preston & Spencer Dalton

Every day get colder

Fewer souls are fighting to find, to find

Where are those who listen

Where are those with open eyes, open eyes

Will we ever see
What this world could truly be
How far will we have to go
Before we really find our hope

We’re stealing light from our own eyes
Killing innocents with our pride, our pride

This world is failing fast
Our future is now our past
Repeating all our pain
I don’t think we’ll ever change

Will we ever see
What this world could truly be
How far will we have to go
God, we will hold on to hope

God, we will hold on to hope

I’m fighting to stay alive

Gabriel

Written By: Preston & Spencer Dalton

Gabriel
Verse:
Car alarms, ringing through these empty streets,
Rain is cold, it’s unforgiving she,
His dark is close, his hate it grows,
Her wounded eyes are closing without hope

Chorus:
Hold on, hold on, with His light He will make you strong,
Hold on, hold on, with His light
Verse:
This growing crowd will stand and watch with no intention,
All but one, this one that captured my attention,
His run it starts, His wings they part, as she hears this hero cry,

Chorus: Hold on, Hold on, with my light I will make
you strong,
Hold on, Hold on, open your eyes and see this love.
Bridge:
Now I open my eyes and look around me,
All I see are the clouds chasing behind me,
His wings are opening to sunlight, this piercing light is
ahead, this dawn will never end.

Chorus: hold on, hold on, with my wings I will carry you on

Jezebel

Written By: Preston & Spencer Dalton

Jezebel Preston & Spencer Dalton

Moving to you slowly, she’ll reveal her angel eyes
When you see inside her, all you’ll find are angry lies
She’ll take you out of her window, high above the city skys
Letting go of you slowly, you’ll fall so slowly, she’ll watch you die

You can’t say it’s all over
You can’t say, that I’m out of time
You can’t say it’s all over
Life isn’t leaving me behind

You would try to seduce me, to the edge of empty graves
All your words are like poison, running through my open vains
With a knife to my mind, you would have me be your slave
I won’t turn from you slowly, won’t run from you slowly, I’ll watch you die

You can’t say it’s all over
You can’t say that I’m out of time
You can’t say it’s all over
Life isn’t leaving me behind

No more, no more
I’ve seen the truth
I won’t take my eyes off of you

No more, no more
You are my cure
I can’t take my eyes off of you

Take What You Want

Written By: Spencer & Preston Dalton

I know this world will make,
Lies out of what we say,
So try to see this life with eyes,
Eyes inside

Take what you want

Chorus

Take what you want; you got nothing to lose,
Take and believe that you can be new,

You know this world will make,
Lies out of what we say,
Don’t you know everything’s changing here today?
Can’t you see we’re all meant to be resaved?
