Lyrics

A Place Called Home

Written By: Mike Allsup

There are people who'll or who will stand
And watch the world go around
And there's people who'll or who will
Try to make it turn
If you want to be the one to try
To make another smile
Happiness a guarenteed return

There's a place called home
Just around the corner
Open the door and come right in
There's a place called home
Just around the corner
Open the door and you'll find another friend

Well of all of the people
That I've came along to
No one had a heart quite as large as you
If you want to be the one to try
And make another smile
Happiness a guaranteed return

There's a place called home
Just around the corner
Open the door and come right in
There's a place called home
Just around the corner

There she was on the street
Head in Her hands
Asked me if I knew a place
I said go there

Black Door

Written By: Mike Allsup

Black tar fills the eyes of the children underground
Cold and hungry, helpless,Lord lay the children down
Pickin' needles from the garden
Pickin' spoons up off the ground

Help the children,they need
Help the children they need
Help the children won't you pray today
All they need is just to get away

Sewage spills from a line
Two feet in front of thier front door
Pit bull drags the youngest girl
Halfway across her own front yard
Parents spinnin' so
They don't believe a word each other say
The young girl lived, but just because
Her sister chased the dogs away

They need help

Peaceful Man

Written By: Mike Allsup

I've seen enough news for the day
Headlines blowin' me away
Children gone,human bomb
All I want is a better day
You can't tell me
That I've got to live this way

I'm a peaceful man
I won't come to your village and blow up my car
I'm a peaceful man
I teach my children to love who they are

Hour by hour and day by day
Never let a minute slip away
Children gone,human bomb
All I want is a better day
You can't tell me
That I've got to live this way

I'm a peaceful man
I won't come to your village and blow up my car
I'm a peaceful man
I teach my children to love who they are

I'm a peaceful man
I won't come to your
I'm a peaceful man
I teach my children to love who they are

4th of July

Written By: Mike Allsup

Sittin' around the house, with nothin' to do
I picked up an old guitar, head out to the pool
Playin' to the stars, singin' to the moon
Walk down to the river bed, thinkin' of you
If I could control myself
She'd still be here with me

I Took my baby to the riverside
And threw her in
I never will forget it was the fourth of July
Guess it's here again

I Took my baby to the riverside
And I threw her in
Never will forget it was the fourth of July
Guess it's here again

Every time I go I always see your face
Whenever the wind blows I always hear your name
One more time around
I just might let you go
Get you from my head forever
won't you just let me know
If I could control myself
She'd still be here with me

I Took my baby to the riverside
And threw her in
I never will forget it was the fourth of July
Guess it's here again

I Took my baby to the riverside
And I threw her in
Never will forget it was the fourth of July
Guess it's here again

Leavin'

Written By: Mike Allsup

Leavin',leavin' on a train
I'm leavin',leavin' on a train
I don't wanna come crawlin' back to you,you again
Cause I'm leavin',leavin' on a train
I might never make it home again

If I try to understand the reason
That you done me wrong
And I'm thinkin' bout the times we've had
And we've been together so damn long
I pulled down my travelin' bags, stuffed 'em
Full of whiskey and pain
Cause I'm leavin',leavin' on a train
I might never make it home again

If our lives could turn around
Would I ever be able to see my heart again
All I want to know is if you'd given it back
I'd want it back,I want to say

I'm Gone

Written By: Mike Allsup

Hey there friend what's wrong with you
Have you got nothin' better to do
Than get high bye bye
I've helped you so many times
Now you turn around and tell me lies
Well I'm through bye bye

I've been around for much to long
now I'm gone
I'll be travelin' far away
Tommorow's finally here today
And I'm gone

Never wanna see, never want to know
I don't want to see another go below
All i want is to be there, there with you
Don't know how,don't know why

Chorus

All I wanna do is help my friends
Help my friends,but I can't
Theyve gotta help themselves
