Damasco Soul System is a cultural fusion of Latino, reggae, and Afro-beat. Featuring members from a diverse background from Ghana, Chile, Untied States, and Canada, DSS brings infectious rythyms and impromptu jams to every performance. Formed in 2017 , they have played numerous shows including Richmond World Festival, and opening up for Godwana in Vancouver. Davide Silva, hailing from Chile, leads with a wide variety of songs that vary from bouncy dancehall to love songs written about his daughter. A student of Brazilian Angola Caporeira, Silva leads traditional jams to various songs on his berimbau(musical bow). Sometimes inspiration hits aand he'll alsshow off his unique dance/fighting skills. Roots style acoustic guitar rhytyms, groovy bass lines, and rock steady drums accentuated with djembe round out DSS's unique sound.
