Damascus Dawn Wins KCCM’s ‘Best Rock Artist’ Award

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -
Damascus Dawn Wins Best Rock Award

Overland Park, KS, April 28, 2008––Contemporary Christian band Damascus Dawn took home the award for King Cat Christian Music’s ‘Best Rock Artist’
at the Annual KCCM Awards ceremony held at the Bell Cultural Center on Saturday, April 26. The KCCM Awards serve to recognize Christian artists in
a variety of award categories including Artist of the Year (in each music genre), Song of the Year, and Group of the Year.

In addition to the Rock category, Damascus Dawn was also nominated for Best Contemporary Artist, Group of the Year, and Song of the Year.
Damascus Dawn exemplifies the diversity that is found in the kingdom of God. They come from various ethnic backgrounds, different denominations,
and even varying musical backgrounds. It is this diversity that gives their music its unique flavor--Contemporary, with a little bit of folk, rock, funk,
and even reggae. They have appeared in various coffee houses and churches around the Kansas City area and have also been heard on Independent
radio stations worldwide.

The message they hope to spread with their music is that God loves the outcast, the rejected, the orphan. Says lead singer/acoustic guitarist Michelle Scott Redmon, "Even if the whole world throws you away, He will be there."

Bio

Damascus Dawn was formed in 2004 in Overland Park, KS. It was originally founded as an all girl guitar band, but quickly expanded to include men and instruments other than guitars. Our members are diverse in ethnicity, age, marital status and denomination, and that is one of the things we love about our group, as we feel it accurately portrays God's kingdom.

The message we hope to spread through our music is that God loves the orphan, the rejected, the outcast. When the world throws you away, He will be there, arms wide open.
