Biography

Damian Van Horn and the Dark Days, the art-rock outfit offers up beautifully haunting music: Riveting, honest, emotional, melodic. Songs created by a painter that invade more than one sense.

The arrangements and instrumentation are simultaneously disconcerting and appealing. Listeners hear obvious audible influences of The Cure, The London Suede, Bauhaus, and Pink Floyd at their most creative.

If the group’s sound haunts, Damian's lyrics fascinate. Born of subconscious streams of thought and the desperate attempt to articulate truth, the lyrics complement the instrumentation. Damian creates songs based on a personal story both real and fantasy. “We play what we feel and I write what I live in the real world and in my head.” explains Damian. The result is a poignant combination of talent and passion.

BACKGROUND
Formed in the Winter of 2000, the group is the vision and sweat of Damian Van Horn with the help of: Desiree Van Horn (’This Episode’), Otto Van Horn (formerly of ‘Loraxx’), and Mathew Kaarlela. Damian initially began playing under the name of 'Death of a Salesman' with the goal of strengthening their stage performance. As the songs matured and his ideas became clearer he began taking control of recording and producing his material, and in 2006 decided to pool new talent from the punk and rock music scene with a line up of full force. The 2006 line up includes members from Destroy Everything.
