Damienz Dezign consists of two Chicago underground rappers: Kamazi the Beast & Plague D. the Monsta. The different styles of theses artists have combined over the years to develop a brand all their own (Sic-Hop). Kamazi, birth name Robert Welch, born in Dearborn, Michigan, moved to Chicago in 2001. There, Kamazi found his calling to hip-hip, & more importantly, the wicked shit. With inspirations such a ESHAM, Mos Def & ICP displayed in his rhymes, he searched for other rappers who shared the same insanity & lyrical prowess. In 2003, Kamazi met Plague D., birth name Jeremy Batton, born in Chicago, met through a mutual friend on Chicago's south side. At that time Plague was involved with an unofficial group named Cannibus Cavalry. Then, music was jus one of PLague's interests. Being a true hip-hop head, he also was skill in writing graffiti & in-line skating. Influenced greatly by artists such as Twiztid, NATAS, IllBill & Gravediggaz, his style is warped system of anger & Vocabulary. Kamazi & Plague D. began to rap but never in the same group or even the same song. Kamazi was concentrated on a solo career, &Plague was finding his place among a sea of groups. Plague began a group with another Chi-Town rapper known as Kannibal. The short- lived group called Gruesome had one single, "Melody of Death", &then broke up. After this group was over, Plague reunited with his long- time friend who had been incarcerated for over a year, Buck Rowdy. Buck Rowdy & Plague D. soon began the sic-hop group 17th Rizq. This group had four well- received songs, such as "Lab Rats" & "Together we Slaughter". As well as several eye opening performances; including a set at the Gathering of the Juggalo's '07. however, they would ultimately wind down after a short run in the underground.
Now, after a few shots at the other groups & attempts at making a smash in music, Plague D. the Monsta & Kamazi the Beast have come together to create Damienz Dezign. The music began to flow instantly. A studio was set up in the same place the would sleep to guarantee a constant free flow of creations. With their lives consumed by sic-hip now, their debut album Murder Made Law. As a group our main Influences Hip-hop,old horror slashers movies, writers, and classic rock is our biggest influence. Examples of such influential artist such as Esham, The grave Diggaz, Led zeppelin, techn9ne, Jimmy Hendrix, Insane Clown Posse/twiztid, John Carpenter, Edgar Allan Poe, Anne Rice, among lots of others. We like to consider our self separate from other groups, because we take a broad approach in the creative formula of our music. The different approach comes from our style of music we call sic-hop. Sic-hop is a dark/twisted lyricaly inclined style or rap.
