Bio

Bred by culture and tradition unfamiliar to the average lifestyle, he moves to a different drum. Growing up on the outskirts of Detroit, one of the country’s top crime cities, he doesn’t prefer to watch the news. Raised by a loving family that taught him he could do anything he set his mind to, he continues to rise from lessons others would consider failures. Damjon Marcus has the makings of a true game changer. His parents both of Albanian blood came to America in 1976 on a journey to find the American Dream. They wanted to make a way for their children so that they would not be around the oppression and communism of Eastern Europe.

Damjon was born in Detroit, Michigan. He also had family in New York throughout the burroughs. Every summer the considerable amount of time spent in the birthplace of Hip-Hop molded who he would become creatively. He tended to keep to himself, but grew to be very outgoing. In late 2002 he made a decision to pursue his passion for music. Rap came naturally though he was not very musically inclined when he began. Luckily he knew a few people who were. After a few months working with a close friend in a home studio, he took the plunge and built a studio in his own home. Trial and error doesn’t adequately describe the learning process. However, Damjon created multiple projects over the last decade and never stopped working and continued to get better. He enjoys engineering others’ work almost as much as creating his own. Over the last decade Damjon has had quite a few notable accomplishments.

Here are a few:
In 2006, Under the name Nis, Damjon released “Eye of The Storm” at the National Chain BEST BUY independently.
In 2006 he collaborated with national artist Jim Jones of Dipset on a song still unreleased due to project delays.
In 2007 he was featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show as 1 of 3 top finalists to be Sean “Diddy” Combs personal assistant.
In 2008 he collaborated with Shawnna of DTP on “Ready To Blow”.
Over the span of 2009-11 He released 4 mixtapes all comprised by mostly original work with his artists on his independent label Uptown Affiliates. The Titles are as follows:
It’s An Uptown Thang
RnB Sessions
Audio Express
Lionheart
Multiple videos are available on his youtube channel DMETV.
In October 2011 he opened a private studio outside of his home and calls it Uptown Recording Studios. They offer engineering services, production, songwriting and Full Project Production by “The Wingmen”.
On July 3, 2012 Damjon Marcus released “Quarter 2 Midnight” a full length original solo album on ITunes.

Damjon Marcus is slowly developing himself into a brand that will connect multiple industries and bridge gaps like no one before. He is planning to do everything he can, not to make “HIS” mark on the world, but to make the world better. Planning for his next project to be a major label release, Damjon Marcus is looking for a place where he can continue to create and grow but also help a company prosper like never before from the next franchise artist.

“I make my songs to the music, my creativity has no boundary. My blood pumps to the rhythm and I breathe through the keys.”
-Damjon Marcus

He is most definitely an artist. He has created projects of commercial quality and standards but has never been truly exposed to the world. It is important that the world meets this man. He is next. He is an inspiration.
