"Local Licks"

Damn Handsome and the Birthday Suits, Decapitate the People for the Government. Despite the awkward name, puzzling album title, and amateur artwork, Damn Handsome's music is absolutely worthwhile. The San Francisco trio's four tunes draw deftly from pop-punk and glam rock, like Green Day circa 1995 crossed with Green Day circa 2005. (self-released) - East Bay Express

Bio

Damn Handsome and the Birthday Suits is a SF bay area 3 piece punk/cocktail rock type band. They have a little bit of a Green Day feel to them. The band features founding member and Singer songwriter Rob Barrett (The Reverend Rob) on lead guitar and vocals. Rob is a former member of 7 Karma Fishes who were very successful and were signed to Meldac Records and distributed through Warner Bros.
Damn Handsome and the Birthday Suits have played locally over the last year, with upcoming gigs over the next month. They will be playing The world renowned Slims, and The Rockit Room to name a few.

Damn Handsome & The Birthday Suits began in the Spring of 2009 as this line up. The member Jack Dunham, Bassist, has many years recording and performing experience traveling the west coast with an assortment of bands and really is just the overall Handsome one, says Guitar/Singer Rob Barrett. Jon Roger, Drummer, and co-musician with Rob for 8 years now in several projects brings a completely new twist to this type of rock. Jon has a flair all to his own with his true background in R-n-B. Rob has a favorite parlor trick, that is COMLPLETE true, that he performs with Jon. ‘Lets ask our amazingly talented drummer friend to name ONE Led Zeppelin song???’ Nope, he ain’t gonna be able boys and girls. So that gives Jon a fresh view of the music they create. He is not merely drawing on years of Rock-n-Roll influence, but is just hearing the music for what it is. That is what The Reverend Rob calls our “Secret Weapon”
