Amalgams of influence can be extracted from Damon's work, but there is always a characteristic of Damon's song crafting that defies current genres. Lyrically Damon ties the state of the human condition with mechanical processes. Damon's style that emerges around his gears, levers, and emotional time-travels is a bastard strain of the NYC No Wave scene and 70's space pop a la Mick Ronson. With an unknown element that begs many listens, Damon constructs songs slightly outside of conventional means, with a synthesis of overtly dynamic vocal meanderings, which gives free roam to the interplay of the unavoidable, the happenstance, and the revelatory.
