Bio

Damon L. Brown, a talented Gospel / Jazz Saxophonist, is taking the Middle Georgia area by storm. Raised in New Orleans, LA, the “birthplace of jazz”, Damon L. Brown, began playing music at an early age, starting with piano and drums. However his interest in music was piqued when he began learning the alto saxophone.

Damon is not only musically talented, but also technically talented. He briefly attended St. Augustine High School, before moving to Natchitoches, LA to attend the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts, where he focused on Math/Science and Saxophone. Upon his graduation from high school, he majored in Electrical Engineering at Florida A&M University, where he became a member of the FAMU Marching 100 Band. Ever since his first solo, Amazing Grace at an early age at Greater Providence M.B.C, he has played with many church choirs in Louisiana, Florida, and Georgia and continues to minister in music at Fellowship Bible Baptist Church, Warner Robins, GA where Rev. Willie L. Reid, Sr. is pastor.

"Annointed", "Spirit Filled", "Powerful", "Soulful" are some of the adjectives used to decribe his musical stylings. Damon believes in the duality of music, both sacred and secular." God created music for us to perform, and enjoy and to glorify him, for only God could have created something so powerful as music. He is the great musician, I just follow his lead." As such he maintains a theme of positivity in all of his music, whether Jazz, Soul or Gospel. Damon believes that playing the saxophone is his instrumental voice and his anointed gift to spread God’s love.

Damon has been invited to perform at the Warner Robins International City Festival, Events at the Douglas Theatre, and Vet Fest 2011. Damon has also played many private events such as the CASA Evening of Jazz, Alpha Phi Alpha Scholarship Ball and Cotillion, as well as the NSBE Jazz Cafe' Scholarship event. He has also been featured at various events during Robins AFB's Black History Observances and Martin Luther King Day Breakfasts.

Damon has also been invited to share his music ministry at Bethany SDA Church, Christian Fellowship Church, Warner Robins C.M.E Church, First Baptist Church, Garmon Street, Agape Outreach Ministries, House of Prayer COGIC, and many other churches in the Middle Georgia Area.

Damon can be seen performing solo or with his instrumental Jazz group, the Feedback Band throughout middle Georgia. His Major influences are: Kirk Whalum, Gerald Albright, Grover Washington, Jr., Mike Phillips, Donald Hayes, and Angella Christie.

Damon presently resides with his wife and family in Kathleen, GA.
