When he's not recording jazz/funk-infused indie music, New York native Dan Ackerman is a former radio DJ turned journalist, covering video games, gadgets, nightlife, and music for publications such as Spin, Blender, The Hollywood Reporter, PC Magazine, USA Today, WWE Magazine and Sync.
"Tales Out of Night School," his third album, mixes styles and influences from Gil Scot-Heron and Roy Ayers to Beck and Donald Fagen, moving between jazzy instrumentals and singer/songwriter territory.
